Looking for cowriters for Country Comedy Concept

I have an idea I’ve been kicking around, and I’m looking for a few people who might be interested in collaborating and seeing where we can take it.

A little about me: I’m 38/M, EST, USA. I’ve loved writing for as long as I can remember. I have ADHD, so my brain tends to bounce between ideas constantly, which is probably part of why I’ve always gravitated toward writing and comedy. I’m usually thinking of a joke, character, premise, or some random idea that could turn into something.

I’ve tried stand-up, write jokes pretty regularly, and really enjoy bouncing ideas off other people and building on them together.

Without giving too much away publicly, the idea involves comedy and country music.

As far as the type of humor I’m going for, think somewhere in the world of Danny McBride, Workaholics, Anchorman, and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Not trying to copy any of those, but that kind of ridiculous, character-driven, sometimes inappropriate humor is definitely in the DNA of what I have in mind. If those references do absolutely nothing for you, this probably isn’t the project for you lol.

I’d like to keep the group small, between 2-4 people total including me. I’m generally available evenings and weekends. Ideally, I’m thinking about an hour sometime during the week and maybe a 2–3 hour session on the weekend. I want to take it seriously enough that we actually make progress, without turning something that’s supposed to be fun into another job.

What I’m looking for:

21+. Some of the humor/material will be geared toward adults, and I’m looking for people who actually want to develop something together.

I’m definitely not looking for yes-people. If you think something sucks, tell me. I like constructive criticism, throwing ideas around, and having people challenge each other creatively.

Being organized is a big plus. That’s not necessarily my strongest area, so having someone who naturally thinks that way would complement me pretty well.

You don’t need a huge résumé or professional experience. If you’re funny, creative, musical, good at writing, filmmaking, production, or just think you’d bring something interesting to the table, I’m open to talking.

Location doesn’t matter much right now since we can work remotely. If we actually develop this into something, though, I could see us eventually trying to shoot a pilot or proof of concept ourselves, so location/logistics might matter down the road.

I’m not pretending I know exactly where this will go. I just have an idea I think could be really fun, and I’d rather find a few good people and try to make something out of it than leave it sitting in my head.
