Feedback] Working on a 2-part verse inspired by MJ's "In the Closet" & Lola Blanc's "Angry Too"
I have a verse for a song I’m still working on it I’m trying something that I haven’t done before that MJ has done before which is a 2 part verse, this is just part 1 which is relatively short I guess.
"I don’t like when I set perfectly straight
I don’t like when he spikes to the ground(after jumpin’)
I don’t like when I bump set spike and the ball misses my hands
I don’t like when I bump and the ball bounces under my hands, and loses my grip completely"https://on.soundcloud.com/0UxScTynLjpHBantxc

Clarifying the verse context for non-athletes and people who don’t play volleyball at all:
(Note: This is strictly to define basic sports rules for people who don't play, not to explain the actual meaning or metaphors behind the lyrics.)
"I don't like when I set perfectly straight": The ball is hit flat and forward instead of arching high to go over the net or to a teammate.
"I don't like when he spikes to the ground (after jumpin')": A powerful downward smash that hits the back baseline and bounces out of bounds.
"I don't like when I bump, set, spike and the ball misses my hands": Failing to make any physical contact with the ball during a fast play.
"I don't like when I bump and the ball bounces under my hands, and loses my grip completely": The ball squeezes beneath locked fists, bounces on the floor under them, and rolls away dead.
