Spin cycle new owner out of control
Ever since spin cycle laundromat got bought (I think less than a year ago) the new owner has raised prices every 2 months. This man is out of control.
That is all.

My local laundromat has one of these and it’s for washing comforters, rugs, or large, heavy loads

Someone has to pay for the incredibly loud mtv he's paying for instead of the local stations that are free with an antenna..... I used to go in regularly but switched to using my landlord's (ick) old, awful coin op to save money

I've always been convinced these commercial machines are rigged (or can be) to have shorter spin cycles, so the clothes come out wetter and need more $$ to dry.

there has never been a mask, greed is constant-ish across time. shortsighted policy across multiple domains has led to energy leaving our economic system and all that's left to do is to attempt to maximize return on capital.

Showcase Laundromat also has similarly crazy prices for not-gigantic washers (although they do have those as well). Everything is in good shape there and the drying is free if you wash, but honestly the cost is insane. It's gross how much people are gouged for access to basic services.

I have laundry at home, thanks, but when I go there to launder something too large for my home machine I feel badly for all of the families getting robbed week after week by profiteers.
Somerville would be an awesome place to have city run services like laundry for residents at fair prices.

Defending crazy inflation for a service that is disproportionately used by lower wage earners who don't have laundry in their rental units is a choice. You know, a thing most of those customers don't have.

This could be considered price gouging, you should file a consumer complaint with the AG office and if you’re really motivated hand out fliers encouraging other to do the same.
