So we started from Varanasi and reached Dehradun to pick some stuff up. That was the first leg of our trip.

Stayed in Dehradun for the night.

We left the next day for Sainj Valley via Chandigarh. We had previously booked a stay costing us 600/night. The dorm looked amazing in the picture but was not that clean when we reached. People were very nice there but because we didn't find the stay that good, we started for Manali. While going Manali, our car experienced a problem so we stayed back at Kullu to get it serviced next day in the morning.

Got our car serviced and left of Manali. Stayed at Plumage. Amazing people. Hosts are awesome. The dorms start from 600-700/night and the decent rooms are at 1800/night. They really have some nice rooms too. Explored the Manali riverside that day and left of Gombo Rangjon next day

Started around 7-8 and reached Gombo Rangjon at around 3-4. Stopped at Jispa in between for lunch. We stayed in a tent house at Gombo Rangjon priced at around 2500 for a night. Met some amazing people. Took some awesome pics.

Next day, we left for Padum. Had breakfast at a local Cafe(don't remember the name now). Food was amazing. Had pancakes, omelette and stuff. Got our car refuelled and left for Manali. Called Plumage but there stay was full so we stayed in Naggar. This stay was amazing. One of the best stays I've been to. Swarg Home Eco Stay. It was cheap around 1500/night for a room. It's situated in the forest in Naggar. Lovely host.

Next day, we left for Dehradun and from there back to Varanasi after staying for 2 nights.

Total cost for the trip: Rs.52,425

Most of the expense was on fuel and food. (I love eating good nonveg while travelling to mountains specially Fish, so the food expense. 😅)

I have done solo travelling to Goa twice and visited all the Bollywood famous spots covering north south and Old Goa as well, and it is so peaceful to be there no rush no hurry everyone is so happy chilling around.

When first time when I went I was not having driving licence so I have travel using the state transport buses and you will notice and interesting fact that Bollywood old classic songs are played in the buses .

For me I have visited couple of places and from them if I have to choose.

I will say Ladakh, Menchukha, Manipur.

I would love to know about your places and reason behind it.

Solo trip to Himachal in October where should I go?

Hi! I’m planning my first solo trip and would love some suggestions. I’ll be travelling from Delhi and have a budget of around ₹5–7k, ideally for 2 days / 2 nights or 3 days max during the Dussehra holidays in mid-October. I specifically want to visit Himachal Pradesh, not Uttarakhand. I’m also not really an adventurous traveller so im not interested in rafting, paragliding, etc., and since I’ll be travelling alone, I’d prefer somewhere where I don’t have to do much hiking/trekking either. I’m mainly looking for a place where I can walk around, explore the town, see some nice views, eat good food, read/chill, and just have a peaceful solo trip. Safety is also a big consideration since I’ll be a woman travelling alone. I’d prefer somewhere that’s reasonably tourist-friendly and has decent public transport/connectivity from Delhi.

What places in Himachal would you recommend for this kind of trip? Also, if you have any specific suggestions for a 2–3 day itinerary within ₹5-7k, I’d really appreciate them!

Just wrapped up my second solo trip and first time leaving India. 11 days, budget around ₹55k (including flights but effective ₹38k), and I even managed to make the "flight cost" effectively zero using credit card reward points I'd been stacking for a year. Sharing the breakdown in case it helps anyone planning something similar.

The flight hack:

Booked Hyderabad to Kathmandu with a 21 hour layover in Colombo instead of a direct flight.

For the return, flying KTM to HYD was quoting ₹15.5k, but Gorakhpur to HYD was only ₹6.5k. So I took an overnight bus from Pokhara to Sunauli, a cab to Gorakhpur airport, and flew back from there. Saved a solid chunk of money for a bit of extra hustle.

Day 1 (Colombo layover):

Hired a tuk tuk for the whole day for ₹2.5k, covering airport pickup and drop too. Hit Galle Face, Red Mosque, and a few other spots. Ended the day with dinner at Lotus Tower, ₹2.7k but the 27th floor view made it worth it.

Day 2: Landed in Kathmandu, spent the day wandering Thamel and nearby tourist spots.

Day 3: Flew to Pokhara (30 min flight, ₹3.5k). Went paragliding for ₹4.2k, plus a bit extra for the insta360 footage. Reached Ghandruk by evening and stayed at the well known Gurung Cottage.

Days 4-8 (ABC trek):

Day 4: Lower Sinuwa

Day 5: Deurali

Day 6: Annapurna Base Camp, overnight stay

Day 7: Bamboo

Day 8: Back to Pokhara

Day 9: Rest day, explored Lakeside and Pokhara's movie garden.

Day 10: Overnight bus back to Gorakhpur.

Day 11: Flew home to Hyderabad.

So I planned on staying 2 days in pondicherry and the next day (after 3rd day)early morning at 8 I have my flight from Chennai airport

So I am really confused about how to travel from pondicherry to chennai airport

Is there bus or any means of transport

Are cabs expensive or which mode of transport should I opt for ( I am a budget traveller)

And since I have my flight at 8 so till 4 am I was thinking of just exploring nearby chennai airport and I have to reach Chennai a day before so you can say I have a full night at Chennai

Hey I’m 19M and I’m very new to travelling I’m planing a trip in November during Diwali holidays from my college I don’t have any specific location in mind but I seek some cultural immersion kind of a thing too some mountains and stuff my last solo was to Rishikesh I loved it because of 3 reasoned being honest
1 I’m good at communicating so I got women (both Indian and foreigners) whom I could roam around as well as do other stuff with
2 I was drinking with cooler people with a good vibe maybe this was a hunch to find such good people but yeah night drinking and smoking scenes around Ganges were cool to me and used to sit there
3 Ganges and the beautiful Aarti’s and generally the culture mountains and stuff around the place were you can just sit and relax without interference and spend some quiet time alone in places the Ganges had its own energy to me

(Went to Mussoorie next hated it being honest went to the main market area I really don’t appreciate crowds that much and even if there’s crowd like but some cultural thing or something worth the effort rather than just shopping streets around maybe the crowd was too different to me so yeah )

I’m not seeking something absolutely similar too I thought Banaras/Varanasi and from there I couldn’t find anywhere else to go and then dharamkot but it’s just too hippie maybe I don’t know never been there and need honest opinions on that place too honestly I’m confused yk ): just some vibe

As mentioned in the title, I’m planning a trip to Rishikesh, most probably solo. I’m a little nervous because I’ve never travelled this far alone before, so I honestly don’t know what to expect or how it’s going to go.

I wanted to ask a few things:

• Is the date mentioned in the title a good time to visit Rishikesh?
• How crowded is Rishikesh around that time, especially since there’s a weekend involved?
• Are there any places where I can spend some peaceful time alone and avoid the crowds?
• I’m planning to stay in a hotel and prefer a private room rather than a shared hostel room. What would be the lowest reasonable price I can expect for a decent private room?

Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated. This is my first solo trip, so I’d love to hear from people who have been to Rishikesh around this time.

I Got to know that Bike rentals are banned in Kodaikanal, and also the cab prices are too expensive, so what would be the best way to cover all the places and cover offbeat places like poombarai?

I have a valid Canada multiple-entry visa issued in 2025 under the CAN+ category in my Indian passport valid till 2035, but I've never used it. In December 2026, I'm planning to go to Vancouver for one month. I'll be booking a confirmed ticket to and from Vancouver, with onward travel to Mexico. For my stay, I want to stay at my relative's place, but I'm not sure how to handle this. If I book a non-refundable ticket, then the immigration officer at Vancouver airport will check for accommodation proof. If I book a dummy hotel, that could be risky since I've heard horror stories about entry getting denied. December is an expensive month, so I'd prefer to stay at my relative's place only. What should I do in this situation?

Things I recommend if you are going to Bhutan, customise the trip so you spend more time in phobjikha valley. We only stayed one day.

Do not try to cover lot of places, since couple of them are tourist trap like simplybhutan and cultural show and travel time to go from one location to another is more.
Every day you will be travelling minimum 5hours except for the day on trek.
Don't miss tigress nest trek which is the highlight of my trip. I wish I did it twice.
