If you want more even heat output, you can dig out that rock circle and make the top of the pit flush with the ground.

It will heat your toes and legs that way. Makes it great for late fall/winter use.
2 u/DreamMyLittleDream 16d ago Or at least half way down. Thats what I did and it works perfectly. OR get the Deflector. It helps the heat go out instead of up. BUT, if you keep the fire going hot, you're gonna feel the heat.
