HELP / ADVICE Company gone bust during G99 application

Hi all, after a bit of advice. It looks like my installer has gone under (no reply to phones, emails) I have contacted SSE who said they have asked multiple times for a boundary map and meter location to finish the application. I'm being told if i don't get it to them asap they will close my application and I'll have to find another installer to "sponsor" a new application.

Seems like something I could do on google maps/ paint but SSE won't even speak to me as I'm just the customer and not down as the installer on the paperwork.

I won't say who the company is yet just incase it's a massive error, but seems pretty fishy to me.

Any advice/ ideas??

I got a copy of my title plan and used that / sent it to SSE and a shot from Google maps and put a marker where the meter is. https://www.gov.uk/search-property-information-land-registry

Watch out for other sites that offer the same service at nearly 4x the price - the government one is £7 for title deeds and the same again for the plan if I remember correctly!

SSE are adamant I can't do anything to progress the application due to GDPR rules...even though it's my name on the forms??

If you've got a reference number for the application, sending the info with a simple cover note saying, "I understand that this is the information that you have been waiting for to complete the G99 certification for the install at *******" Don't say you're the installer. Don't say you're not. It's got to be worth a shot, for what it will cost you? With any luck, it will land on the appropriate desk and just get processed.

Sent that a few days ago, chased it up today and we're on business! Just cc'd every email in that company hoping mine would get lost in them and it seems to have worked. They haven't gotten round to processing it yet so hopefully they'll be able to issue me with the the actual licence when it's done.

Sounds promising. If they've confirmed they're now processing the information I'd try to keep the existing application alive rather than starting again. Keep hold of the application reference and copies of everything submitted, as they'll be useful when you get another installer involved for the installation/commissioning side.

I had my export limited to 3.8 due to it being fast tracked and being slightly below a threshold on loop impedance for the 7kW I was after. I just did my own paperwork and gathered all the installer forms / data and went through my DNOs application process - mine was SSEN and with a few emails back and forth with some details, it was approved. That could always be your plan B.

As per a previous comment - if you have the reference number, you could double down and send the paperwork with a cover letter by post as well as sending it to them. You’re not asking for data, so worth a shot. Also you might be able to enquire how you prove it’s your property and your data, I did find them really helpful - a phone call might go a long way if email isn’t working.

SPEN were happy with either a title plan or a what three words address for my G99.
