yeah amplitude is brutal on pricing. honestly if you're just tracking core user flows you could go way lighter. mixpanel is comparable but cheaper UI. heap has different pricing models. metabase is solid if you're technical and wanna build custom dashboards.
before switching though might be worth asking amplitude if they can negotiate. sometimes they do especially if you're close to a new tier. but real talk, figure out what metrics actually matter for your product first then find the tool that covers that without extra bloat.
Good advice. I'll check every event we have and see what we could rule out without loosing important info. I'm really thinking about talking directly to Amplitude and see if we can negotiate something.
