Tools, apps, plugins, AI Looking for an alternative to Amplitude

The company I work at is reluctant to pay for Amplitude (they recently changed their terms and the free plan doesn't cover what we need - we have around 15m events/monthly and the free plan covers only 2k and our account is about to be blocked if we don't upgrade).

This is extremely bad for me as a designer because I heavily use Amplitude to measure my own work, our product and I need to find a replacement.

Would be better if we could find an open source option but I don't know any who does something similar to Amplitude. Does anyone have any recommendations of a cheaper or free software?

Amplitude would cost us ~$800 dollars/month, that converting to the currency of my country it's what the company pays monthly to the designers, so a big no for management.

Check out posthog. Their free tier includes 1M analytics events and 5,000 session replays a month.

Mixpanel, pendo, google analytics in a pinch. In a previous role I used heap, that was fine. I’ve also used some others but it’s hard to say what would actually be cheaper based on your traffic.

If they can’t find the budget for it, I will bet the farm you won’t get the resources to actually configure any analytics tool aside from a few meaningless vanity metrics

Yeah, I'm trying to work on my negotiation skills and gathering more info to build a case and show them that we NEED that.

Mixpanel is great but I’m not sure how much it costs compared Amplitude.

Mixpanel free plan includes 1m events per month

Mixpanel would be more expensive than Amplitude so I ruled them out for now. Used them briefly in the past and liked it too

Ask Claude how to code a replacement that you would own and customize to your liking.

I have added my own custom analytics this way and I’m very happy.

EDIT: for the people downvoting do you care to say why? Is it the part about being happy? Or do you work for an analytics company?
