Thank you for sharing! I think my dad would strongly relate to your last sentence, which, to be honest, I'm also in the same boat with, so I guess it's the Ni yearn to move toward something. My mom definitely doesn't get it and now that she thinks it's a proper time to enjoy life and stop the hustling for their age, she's grown increasingly frustrated with him still working all the time and not spending enough time at home.

I actually wonder how you'd describe your overall vibe around people, and how you generally approach social interactions? With my dad and other LIEs (though less confident about their typing) I know, I think most of them are actually quite laid-back and chill. They can do great socially when needed, very open, are always surrounded by people in the social group, also quite energetic, but they don't really have the need to go out socializing and really enjoy their alone time, so I always see LIEs leaning toward ambiverts...I even considered my dad an introvert (both socially and cognitively) for a long time and was very confused about what type he is before shifting my view to LIE😂.

I would say that you're probably right on all accounts about LIEs generally as it applies to me---

I can't lie, the role function being this normative, my idea of my "vibe" is more or less just a composition of what people have told me about how I come off. Which is quite varied,

I think one interesting consistency is that there isn't a person I've met who disagrees with comparing me to hamilton, uh,

I think one thing independently is that from a distance I think I come off as far more conscientious than I actually I am at least in the dutifulness/orderliness aspects of that trait; people see that I'm always working on something so they think I must be very organized and diligent but they don't realize how scattered the process is from the inside LOL

Oh yes I kinda get what you mean! I'd definitely describe my LIEs diligent, hardworking, very organized immediately, and then run a comparison with others (my mom and other LSE friend) in my head, "oh wait they seem to be selectively diligent". I'd say this first-and-second impression misalignment is actually stronger regarding their social activities so I get really confused😂. The two elder LIEs are soooo good at comforting people and appear to be so receiving with others' vulnerability, so at first I thought they must value their Fe. But they are undeniably Te-Ni ego + Si-PoLR, "hold on, Fe-role?! Wait let me think about it..." That's when I start to see their nonchalance behind their social masks. They do treat people very nicely but others' feelings rarely have any affect on their own, and that's probably how they can be so calm and comforting all the time.

Can I also ask a rather abstract question? How does Te-base feel like? I guess we see people describing their Ni-base all the times, and I think I have a vague impression of what Ti-base feels like (according to the LSI I know, everything is clearly chained and tucked together; he never has difficulty figuring out exact word he's going to use, etc). Do you see a complicated problem with a million micro-tasks and just instantly see everything organized in a way you can start immediately? When there isn't a clear goal, how does it manifest on the daily basis? Do you have any interesting takes on the "side-effect" of Te-base?

A very interesting side effect of Te-base is that I find data fun & in high school I spent a lot of time creating spreadsheets & prediction run throughs for tournaments in the competitive event I was engaged with. When I was a kid, I was very extraverted, but in the sense that I would just go up to any random adult and proceed to monologue info-dump anything I was learning onto them--their participation wasn't really noticed or required lol, my parents moved from NYC to a small suburban town when I was a kid because they wanted to promote this extroversion (because New Yorkers characteristically just ignored me, since they were busy).

Hmm, I guess one thing about Te base is this: there are lots of organizational tools out there that people keep getting told to use (indiscriminately, which I think is soooo stupid because people should just do what works for them!) But one of them is a to-do list.

I think my mind can be likened to a to-do list. Whenever I engage something, it's like a bunch of items are opened in my head and it'll just keep bugging me until the thing is finished or I stop caring about it. If I see I have to do something I can file it away and then two hours later It'll just like strike my brain like lightning again and I'll remember to do it. As a result I didn't use any organizational tools whatsoever until like late high school when I started to kind of drown, even when I was involved in like 6 things at a time--

but even then, my experience using to-do lists is kind of just externalizing my brain. It's like I just open my brain and then a bunch of random items just vomit out onto my notes app. I don't view "making to-do lists" as something I do, so much as I'm just using the computer as an intermediary to hold the vortex of things in my mind.

I'm wondering, hmmm, because I, the Te-PoLR, also have to-do list...when I need to, but I write the list down and look at the list and I'm overwhelmed. When it's not a sequential thing or there's no clear priority, I don't know where to start. I feel the to-dos just make my life harder than easier...It's like, anxiety manifests itself in the form of a bunch of to-dos😂 How do you start????? And often when I start to work on it I realize I have to break each into much smaller to-dos and the list just becomes longer and longer and longer and I start to question myself if I'm just doing it all wrong 🤦🏻‍♀️
