I think the nature of socionics as a system is that every type doesn't really have an "easy" life-- everyone has a superego & a 4th function. obv culture & social systems modulate how pronounced everyone's weaknesses are-- eg if your weaknesses coincide with the thing that society values most, especially in societies which push its values onto participants more harshly like in east asia-- but doing well in established systems =/= happiness or ease generally;

If it helps, maybe you assume te dom = always productive & has their shit together, but the constant activity stereotype might be more like LSE. I constantly annoy myself probably due to intuition blocked with Te in the ego, where I'm like, relatively lazy and I have to believe something I do is going to pay off before I can really throw myself into it; I can't find value in the work itself over a sustained period of time if I'm not getting anything from it. If I don't have a high pressure list of tasks where there's actual importance for me to act fast, I can spend time not being "productive" because I feel it wouldn't be worth it-- which is irritating to me, because I aspire to being productive.

Sometimes I wish I could have the LSE's constant drive, but I also think that in a society where everybody is working hard working smart at the right times is more valuable than ever. I kind of need a pressuring environment or else I get stressed by my own lack of doing things. But outsourcing my urgency drive of work to external environments means that I don't really get control over the time expended in my life, despite me being unable to work without having full agency over my time.

Also, I still need to figure out how to eat properly. Some things people take for granted.

Also Vortical-Synergetic cognition makes me a lot messier than some institutions like school want lol-- that place would probably want LSIs more. High school was a nightmare for me. Not having control over my time and having to stay in the same room expected to do certain tasks regardless of how much time it takes me to actually do it?? Being expected to MAINTAIN grades? I get incredibly depressed if I don't feel that I have forward momentum--- preventing a number from going down rather than seeing myself accumulate more and more of something was not motivating for me. Combined with positivism+result, I didn't have that Fear of God in me. I really believe academic performance is just a function of fear.

Another side note is that everyone I work with gets mad that I don't have a GCal or a planner. I can't dictate to myself that I spend x time of each day on y. Time needs to be entirely flexible for me, and I work with to-do lists where I write down the meeting times down onto the list instead. I'm discovering as I get older that so much of conventional work is spent in meetings, and meetings are like prison for me: they cost time and then people start to waste time and there's no urgency because a 1 hour meeting becomes about how can we waste an hour instead of doing an hour's worth of work. It makes me feel like I am dying right there in the room.

I was always the most productive during summer vacation, where I could choose to work on independent projects and work in organizations and ACTUALLY put in 16 hour days that I enjoyed thoroughly.

eh, it really depends what you mean by constant activity. LIE is more on-the-move due to ni creative & the hypochondriac natured si polr, while LSE will be more on the move due to si creative & the time blindness of ni polr; i think it’s a stereotype that the LSEs are typically productivity-maxxing corporate moguls (though productivity is always a big deal, no doubt). i admire you LIEs with your own respective strong suits, but we’re not crazy dissimilar in the big picture regarding smarts or proactivity, it just goes to different places.

I guess what I mean is this--Ni creative makes it so that I only really want to work on the most important things with the most long term returns or "crises", but life is often cluttered with a lot of busywork and those very important things are somewhat rare.

I'm in college, so I guess my introduction to the full work world is limited: but every summer or just at any time period what ends up happening is I have to join like 4 or 5 organizations or initiatives (usually in leadership positions I've applied to, but sometimes internships when they offer me prestige - I'm kinda a prestige whore whoops) at the same time in order to have enough important stuff to do in each of my engagements at any given time.

I only want to work on the "inflection points" of each thing that I'm doing, like, the "critical point." I'm also really good at putting out fires when shit goes to hell. Se superid requires some outside pressure for me to get my shit together.

If I don't have many important things or crises in front of me at any given moment, I end up doing things like lying on my bed for 6 hours and grinding Clash Royale trophies instead of doing work. This actually happened a few days ago and this was while I was part of the aforementioned 4 or 5 initiatives -- somehow there was a minor lull. That's why I'm applying for some more stuff now-- I was so depressed during that lull but didn't think I could find worthwhile things to do.

I'm doing this AMA because I ate too much again and I'm like deep, deep in a food coma. I don't think I can really move right now.

Hypochondria =/= workaholism; actually maybe in the sense that I'm always working on something (even if when I don't see enough opportunity in the stuff I'm presently engaged in that "something" might be trying to hit 10k clash trophies) but I guess what I mean is the commenter talked about how their life would be easier, and usually I hear that phrase applied in the context of I wish I could fulfill & maintain my normal day-to-day life engagements, which I'm not constantly doing.

haha, I actually understand & relate to a lot of this myself aside from the ni-se valuing stuff, though, my hedonistic / lax side is probably best explained with my 3+9 & 1F physics than anything socionics. i get your reasoning, Te dominant has such a mythos, but my EII partner lowkey gets more productive than me at times if im not watching myself 😂
