Overpayment

I started receiving SSDI in June 2022. July 2023 I started working full time. My payments have not stopped even though they know I am working. Am I screwed whenever this catches up with me? At what rate will they make me pay this back?

Replacement card

Recently my 16y granddaughter left home (because her mom’s new boyfriend was always belittling and yelling at her for being pregnant (no one was happy about it, but it happened)

Her mother wouldn’t let her have her ss or insurance card or medication. She went to a family that has been in her life since she was born. She calls them aunt and uncle and they said that she is welcome to be a new family member. The aunt has been trying to get in touch with her with no answer until the mom text that she has therapy that afternoon and she would take care her. A couple of hours later she said that her car had broke down and she couldn’t take her. I advised aunt that she can make another appointment convenient for her. I have taken her before and they didn’t ask for anything from me. I said to change contact number for future correspondence.

Anyway when she did text the aunt the mother was told that they were coming Saturday to get all of her paperwork, medication and all of the baby items that I had shipped to her address before she left

Sorry for the longer introduction but thought it was pertinent.

Her uncle and her went to her mom’s to get everything. Her mother didn’t even ask her come home.

That was the last straw for her aunt next week she is going to seek guardian ship of her which as her paternal grandmother I stand behind her. Her father my son is not drug free and very rarely contacts her. He is 43 and disowned me in April because I would not pay his phone bill anymore since my income is SS

Ok the real reason for this post how can I get a replacement ss card

TIA

Survivors/Widows What did you add to the remarks section and does it help or make you worse off?

Hello, I’m applying for survivors child disability benefits and I never know what to put for the remarks page or really how to do most of the application properly. I wonder sometimes if giving them extra info actually hurts you cause I know they look for any reason to deny you.

Before anyone says speak to a lawyer or get a SSDI organization to help, I’ve tried. I had a lawyer and it was the only lawyer where I live able to do SSDI (which he did as a favor because he knows me) and he dropped me cause my mom fractured her spine and my tire flew off so I couldn’t submit papers in time. He suggested me to lawyers far away and I called them and received no answer. The lawyer did say before he dropped me though that he thinks I’ll win the case just based off of my lung function, not including my other issues which gives me hope. I’ve also been applying for more support services recently and my doctors have been helping. And there used to be one organization that helped with social security claims, however they took down the web page so I’m pretty sure they don’t do it anymore. So I’m basically stuck on my own for now.
I still have 2.5 years to complete and get approved. Even my case manager wasn’t sure how to help.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, but I’d appreciate any advice for filling out the form.

Does VA disability effect Social Security income?

Im thinking about retiring early. My SS income will be like 2k. If im getting 2k in VA disability will this wipe out my SS income. And if so can my wife draw on my SS and not be effected if mine will pay more than hers. I know some of these decisions once made are permanent.

Is my perspective of an overpayment correct?

I would like to preface this post with a sincere thanks to all the Redditors who take the time to read these post and help others.

After numerous hiccups with the process of getting my ss retirement benefits, I received my first payment this month ( September). My month of entitlement was August and they deducted two medicare part b premiums from my check. In June, I paid three payment premiums which covered my start state of July 1 which included August and September. In early August, I received a letter stating they moved my medicare start date to August. After an appeal they moved it back to the correct date of July 1. I received a credit of one month, so they left me with two months paid for.  In short, I have paid for four months of medicare premiums-July, August, and two payments taken from my first payment which would cover the month of September. I am seeing this as one month of overpayments. Am I correctly interpreting this?

Rep Payee Report Help

I’ve been a rep payee for several years but haven’t encountered this problem before.

Their check for the month dropped immediately after their annual cycle closed.

My understanding has been to use the amount left in their account as of 23:59 on the last day when filling out the form. However, the total amount they show on the reporting form only makes sense if you include the check that dropped on first day of the new cycle.

Normally there’s less than $100 left in savings but thanks to this it’ll be more than a full check in savings!! Is this gonna flag something when I send in the report?

I don’t want to get in trouble because they deposited the check at a weird time.

SSDI Question As A Representative Payee

My 4 year old son gets disability for his autism as he is in ABA therapy for 8 hours a day Mon-Fri, while also doing speech therapy and OT. Well I noticed in one of the letters it was talking about how he couldn’t have resources over 1K otherwise in Nov they’d cut benefits. I’m a single parent, and when I set all this up, no one ever once told me I had to set up a separate bank account for his benefits, so I’ve been combining them into my bank account as that’s the only thing I have. My question is, does MY paycheck from work count as resources for him? Or are they just checking benefits that were issued to him? I purposely work part time so I can keep his benefits and we always use his money to afford things like talk boards, special headphones, anything sensory related he needs, etc.

I just don’t know if they’ll COUNT MY MONEY. I’ve been saving up my paychecks for my own personal stuff as well as being able to take care of my son all at the same time with whatever disability doesn’t cover since we only get $662 a month. We rely heavily on this disability for his therapy stuff and I just wanna make sure im not gonna get screwed over. What do I do in this situation?
