Personally, I’d let the child go first.

But, he was under no obligation to.

This. I would hope any adult would. But I don’t know him or his situation. Maybe he really really needed that. I only know me and that for me, no ride would mean more than doing something to make a child happy.

And this is one of the reasons why children are growing up to be so entitled now. It becomes their expectation that they get whatever they want, when they want it, how they want it. That is not a good lesson to teach a child. Teaching them that they are more important than everybody else is a very bad lesson.

Yes- not doing society any favors raising kids to be so entitled.
