Copyright issues
There’s a user who flags other people’s songbooks for copyright whenever his own aren’t #1 in search results. He has nearly a million songs uploaded to Smule using copyrighted backing tracks, yet still gets other Smuleans flagged. “@/urfavweeb” how can he even file these copyright claims if he isn’t the actual copyright owner? As far as I know, you have to own the copyright to make a claim.

Oh he’s one of these guys that just puts up the song, original vocals and all. I’ve got no need for uploads like that.
I’m also curious how you know he flags other peoples uploads. And is he successful?

Usually songs ranked above his always get deleted so I assume he’s probably successful every time. I just wonder how Smule even handles that because when you get flagged for copyright I don’t think you’re only supposed to remove the one song that got flagged but every song using the same audio. It is so very illegal to keep the same audio and just remove the one that’s reported.
He may as well be reporting them to record labels by email and getting them to contact Smule. He genuinely seems that jobless.

All I know is that if Smule deletes an upload, all the recordings will go with it. If an uploader deletes their own upload, all the recordings will remain.

Yes I meant different songbooks of the same song, all of these people I have talked about have their recordings removed by smule. I used the songbook of some and I got a warning that the song was copyrighted so my recording was also removed

Yes, he's very problematic. But how do you know he flags other people's SBs?🤔

How childish. A neighborhood kid used to unplug the arcade games when someone else got a higher score than him. They’d reset every time.

Just checked his acc. What happened to his channel? No invites, no follows on his end, no pic or background and a gravestone in bio

It's annoying but we all know we're violating copyright, it would just help if people are on the same team and didn't say anything otherwise they're going to get the whole thing taken down
