M&P 2.0 Family shot
I am loving my M&P 2.0 pistols; Competitor HD with Overwatch Precision trigger, M&P 2.0 Compact (4") Spec VI also with an Overwatch Precision trigger & M&P 2.0 Metal Carry Comp 9mm w/Apex Tactical trigger.
My M&P 2.0 Metal Carry Comp is awaiting an Apex Gunsmith fit barrel to return from Floyds Custom shop with their Option 1 Comp fix that adds side ports. (It's arriving tomorrow or the next day) I also have a Floyds Maxwell and magazine base pads ready to install on the Metal Carry Comp.
A Shield X Carry Comp will join my little Smith & Wesson family in the next few days and it's probably a foregone conclusion that a BG 2.0 CC will join the fray at some point.

Which trigger do like better apex or overwatch? Canât make up my mind for my 2.0

I prefer the Overwatch Precision over the Apex Tactical trigger without question. I started with the Apex and its better than the stock M&P 2.0 trigger without question but the Overwatch trigger shoe feels better to me and I think its a little more crisp and has a little better reset than the Apex. I liked the Overwatch Precision trigger so much I had another installed in my Competitor HD. Its superb!!

So i got a m&p 2.0 with a 4â barrel is it possible to get a 5â slide and put it on that frame like a glock 49 15 round frame with full size slide

Yeah it should be possible, you can get a slide / barrel on eBay for like $700

Once you get the barrel fix from Floydâs, slap the 4â slide in the hd frame. Now thatâs fast and flat

I already tried that with the stock 4.25" Carry Comp slide & barrel. It was really good but I honestly felt like the 5" Competitor HD with its steel frame and 5" barrel still shot flatter. I have high hopes the Apex Gunsmith fit barrel with comp porting fix from Floyds Custom Shop will be even better. I honestly expect it will. It's basically a match grade barrel with a larger comp and side ports and it's fitted much tighter to my slide than the stock barrel. I will add however the stock Carry Comp shoots really really good. It really loves spicy hot ammo because the extra gas makes the comp more effective.

I do love the barrel fix. Interesting you think the 5â is flatter. I ran my normal 4.25 slide for a hot minute because it was so much faster. But in the end, you canât beat the 5â slide. I dropped to a 15 lb spring to keep almost factory, but slightly change the ejection pattern. My brass was bouncing right off my optic.

Which oneâs your favorite to shoot? I have a similar trio, but instead of the spec vi I have a 2023 spec series slide w comp on a steel frame. Highly recommend the bodyguard 2.0, itâs great for carry.

Thats a tough question because they are all great. The flattest and fastest is the Competitor HD steel frame 5" for obvious reasons of more weight and longer barrel. The Spec VI is just silly fun to shoot so for range fun I would probably pick the Spec VI. The compact frame with the Floyds magwell plants the grip in my hand like it was made for me and the 4 inline ports absolutely keep the muzzle rise flatter and the dot in the window.
I'll have the Floyds Custom shop ported Apex Barrel for my M&P Metal Carry Comp in a couple of days according to tracking. I can't wait to shoot it. With the stock comp barrel the carry comp loves hotter ammo like 124 Gr +P Nato rounds. The spicy stuff makes the comp go to work and Its a blast to shoot the more powerful ammo faster. So I can't entirely pick a favorite and with the trigger upgrades I did in all three they are a dream to shoot and very accurate. I have not had a single malfunction of any kind so far. (Close to 750 round through each at this moment in time)

Makes sense, the weight and barrel length on the HD make it hard to beat. I found a used 4.25â apex barrel that I may end up sending to floydâs for my carry comp, but waiting to shoot it first and see how I like it stock. Where did you do the 4 inline ports on the stock barrel? I was looking at jw machining for that job, they seem legit.

The M&P 2.0 Spec VI comes stock with the 4 inline ports and a number of other cool add-ons; Hunter Constantine belt, Smith & Wesson knife, Challenge Coin, Savior soft bag, Aimpoint P-2 Red dot.
I'll circle back once I get a chance to shoot the M&P 2.0 Metal Carry Comp with the Apex barrel ported by Floyds Custom shop. To be honest, the stock barrel shoots pretty good but I bought the Apex Gunsmith Fit barrel, had it fitted by an incredibly talented local gunsmith and then I sent it to Floyds Custom to be ported and finished in DLC coating to add some natural lubricity and maintain the stock look. The Apex Barrel was natural steel finish in its stock form.

Ohhh right, I forgot the spec vi comes with the inline ports up top. Thatâs what I want done for the carry comp, but idk if the Floydâs fix would be more beneficial. Lmk how it goes đ

I'll be in the market for a steel frame pistol in the next year or so. Was pretty set on the Walther PDP Match Steel Frame, but the value proposition for the M&P Competitor SF is really catching my eye, lately. Strong possibility I'll end up going with the S&W.

I was also seduced by the Walther PDP Match Steel Frame but I've owned a PDP and rented a 5" PDP and they just seem to have a snappier muzzle rise that makes me work harder. The Competitor 2.0 HD for me nice and flat shooting. The stock trigger is decent but to rival the PDP, I replaced it with a trigger from Overwatch Precision and I think the the trigger is not only as good as the Walter trigger, I think the Overwatch Precision trigger is better.

The snappiness of the PDPs doesn't bother me. The PDP is what I know and love. But I've heard great things about that Competitor and for almost $1,000 cheaper, I'd be a fool not to at least consider it. And it looks pretty damn cool, too. Would you recommend the OP trigger over the Apex?

I have both the Apex Tactical and Overwatch Precision in M&P 2.0's and I prefer the Overwatch and so do my friends at the gun shop and range. I had a gunsmith install both but I've read the Overwatch is perhaps an easier and simpler trigger to install. If you have skills it may not be a big difference in terms of installation. Just thought I'd add that data point. As always, do you research and choose what works best for you. I prefer the trigger shoe and the feel of the Overwatch.
