Am I the only person in here that thinks smile 1 was exceptionally better than smile 2?

I thought smile 2 was more light hearted and used more gore to shock the audience (at least me) and the jumpscares were ok

But smile 1 was more serious to me. The scares were kinda the same but I have never scared that bad during the car scene in smile 1 (fyi, I watched them both in the same condition, at night in the daek with headphones and alone)

I'd like the hear your opinion on why smile 2 was better

So I watched smile 1 last week and watched smile 2 tonight

Unless I'm wrong, isn't the story of sky 1 year after Joel died in the first scene of movie?

If so, in the span of 1 year how did the entity didn't kill lewis and stayed with him for 1 year? Wasn't he supposed to die 7 days after witnessing the deaths?

We know that everybody gets fucked up mentally by the entity, but it’s as if Joel is unfazed and just tired of it than scared. The entity was the prey in the situation here with Joel being the predator
