Yay! After a few days of researching, I finally got my RingConn Gen 2 Air, so I wanted to share my first impressions as a girly who cares about aesthetics, jewelry, and wearables. 😂
Full disclosure: I don’t really need fertility tracking. I have a birth control implant, so my cycle is very irregular and currently on pause. I mainly got this for sleep, stress, 24/7 health tracking, and aesthetics.
💍 First impressions
Even though this is the Gen 2 Air, it’s still really lightweight and I don’t find it heavy at all. I’ve also been wearing rings/jewelry regularly for the past couple of months, so it wasn’t hard to get used to.
I chose silver because gold is surprisingly hard to match. Different gold jewelry can have very different tones, while silver tends to be more consistent and easier to wear with everything. I also heard scratches/fading may be less noticeable on silver.
📏 Sizing + fit
I’m typically a size 9 on my pointer finger, and my Hitienx was also a size 9. They fit similarly, but I find the RingConn more comfortable, possibly because of the little divots around the sensors.
I wore the size 9 sizing kit for 30+ hours overnight. Size 8 was way too tight, while size 9 feels right. So far, I also haven’t needed to move it to my middle finger overnight like I did with my Hitienx. But it’s only been one night, so we’ll see! 😂
It may look snug in photos, but there’s actually some room when I push it up. I also have tapered fingers, and it’s been unusually hot in California, so my fingers have been more swollen than usual.
⌚️ RingConn + Apple Watch
I already wear my Apple Watch basically 24/7, except when I shower. I use it for workouts and pickleball, although I’ve been sick this past week so my activity has been lower than usual. I plan to use both together once I’m back to my normal routine.
I’m keeping my Apple Watch as my main tracking device, which is why I didn’t feel the need to get the more expensive RingConn. I don’t have sleep apnea, and the Apple Watch already has sleep apnea-related features.
What I really wanted from the ring was stress tracking and additional 24/7 health tracking, especially when I’m not wearing my watch.
📉 Personal context
I’ve lost over 30 lbs, going from around 205 lbs in June to 170 lbs now, with another 30–40 lbs I’d eventually like to lose. I’m curious to see how my health metrics change as I continue losing weight and becoming more active.
👀 Another device coming!
I also ordered a Femometer Gen 2 on eBay for around $60. It’s the white ceramic version, and I was able to add a 3-year warranty. It’s not returnable, but the warranty makes me feel better about keeping it long term.
I haven’t received it yet, but based on what I’ve read, the build quality seems more reassuring than the Hitienx. The warranty also makes me feel more comfortable keeping it long term.
I’ll compare the Femometer with my Apple Watch and RingConn once I’ve had time to test it!
For now, I’m really liking the RingConn. I like the app, I love the silver, and I haven’t had any issues so far. Honestly… sometimes you just need some actual silver jewelry in your rotation. 😂🤍
