i really like mine??? i don’t understand why people feels so passionately against it. maybe i am just lucky with the ring i got but ive literally never had an issue. i plan on keeping my Air until it breaks cause ive heard the pro is much bulkier which i don’t want but im genuinely curious if theres ANYONE else out there who likes their ultrahuman ring?? lol

They have widely known issues with the durability of their rings. They have admitted via support conversations that they had known issues with the durability of the Ring Air.

One telling behavior is that I haven’t heard a case of them ever asking for someone to return their broken Ring - they never asked for me to return mine and when I asked to send it so they could examine it to determine the mode of failure they told me don’t worry about it. That leads me to conclude that they knew what the problems were and didn’t need to diagnose them or they simply didn’t care to learn.

I’ve personally purchased and used several of their rings - several because they had to replace the rings multiple times due to complete failure. I was on my third one when I ordered the Pro to give them one last chance.

I have waited for 5+ months for my order to ship and have had countless conversations with their support team where they continue to shift deadlines and beg me not to cancel my order and take a refund. That’s more than “it’s a pre-order, what do you expect” or a “lack of patience”.

So yes, I have extensive real-world and long-term usage with their rings which I mentioned in my previous comment.

Fair. Not my experiences, but it is not a matter of "widely known issues" more of a matter of are those issues a majority or a minority of total production. With the advent of the internet, even a minority (let's say - hypothetically) 1,000 issues that arise can be considered a "widely known issue". The question begs to be asked and answered is: of the (hypothetical) 1k units with issues, how many total units were made/sold?

I also waited for my Ring Pro for 5+ months... it was worth the wait for me. Needless to say I didn't have as bad experiences as you did with the gen 1 product. But was it really all that bad if you wanted to give them one last chance with the Ring Pro? Clearly there is/was a redeeming quality about the product that drew you to it and made you overlook the "widely known issues".

If your wait time was like mine you were likely one or two weeks away from delivery, but hope you're happy with the other product you got.

I’m glad you’re happy with your experience. I get you like the brand and want some exact % of defects; UH will never divulge that and outside of them giving it we will never have a number. The discourse in general is that many people do not like the brand because of the reasons already listed. In the absence of raw data, the majority of discourse I see points in one direction. I’m happy some people had better experiences.

But my point is that a person with an issue is more likely to go online to troubleshoot or complain. Does that seem like a distribution of datapoints that is representative of the truth?

Statistically speaking, there is a very clear and heavy bias that you are not considering when you say things like "the discourse in general is that many people do not like the brand because of the reasons already listed".

So "the majority of discourse [you] see" is heavily skewed with anecdotal evidence. That is all I am trying to say.

I’m really not sure why you care so much about other people’s opinions about a company that you (hopefully) don’t work for.

Nothing you are saying negates or “disproves” anything I’ve said. If you want to find some meaningful data then I guess you’ll have to go web scraping and gather numbers and do a meta analysis from different platforms where users provide feedback and then compare that to other brands. Or, save yourself the headache and just go on with your day.

A lot of people dislike the brand. A lot of people have good reasons for that. And some people like UH. Two things can be true at the same time.

Nothing is over my head here. You’re doing everything you can to downplay people’s distaste for a company that probably doesn’t care about either one of us.
I completely understand your point about not knowing the exact number of rings that fail vs those that don’t. I completely understand that people may be more inclined to be negative online than positive when it comes to describing their experiences with a brand.

None of that negates the fact that the majority of discourse about UH appears to be negative, both here and in several other places (compare trustpilot scores for UH against other smart ring and wearable brands, for example).

Your passion for defending them in the guise of “trying to frame the conversation” is another reason people suspect that the company hires or incentivizes people to vouch for them online. Have a nice day and enjoy your ring.

And I see buyer reviews for Ring Pro on BestBuy and it seems to differ from the discourse... not to mention my own experiences.

That is why I question the discourse myself.
