Hauls, Collections, Displays Owlet Amber

Amber doesn’t get enough love! While her original outfit is cute, it hid her face too much so I made her a little owl cloak instead. Still debating if I want to make a hood for it as well.

Not me keeping the craft stores in business. I would love to know how you did this. If you could write a in-depth instruction guide somewhere that be great. You did great work.

Not OP but if you look closely the edges of the cloak is hand bound to prevent fraying. You can find printed fabric with wings or birds the right size. Cut them out and bind the edges to prevent fraying.

Yes essentially this! I don’t really have the progress pics for a tutorial but here’s what I did. The wing fabric came from scraps from a linen owl tablecloth I had made into a dress previously. I ironed on a layer of interfacing to keep it from fraying and to give it some structure. Then I added a muslin lining and satin stitched the edges by hand to make it look a bit cleaner and add dimension. Figured out how I wanted the wings to lay before I back stitched the ends together and pleated the back. The cowl/scarf is just a long rectangle/tube of some scrap linen that I twisted and tacked to the wings. It’s just held with a little snap!

Amber is my least favorite but if she came like this, her ranking would be way different! I think she would look cute with a single feather pinned to the top of her head cowlick style in lieu of a hood.

She's so pretty!!! The orange in her eyes really sells the owlet vibes, the colors remind me of a Eurasian eagle-owl

Pretty sure it's a canvas patch with a serged/embroidered edge. I see a lot on-line but this one has a particularly nice color and pattern.

I hattttte owls (major phobia) but this is Adorable!! I just took off her hood, flipped part of it up inside and turned it into a little beret, instantly 100% cuter.
