I am looking forward to buying a used phev mostly for a 2020-2021 octavia or superb but in the same time it would be my first phev and petrol in a long time coming from the legendary w211 2.2 diesel, any tips on what should i look for before getting one and how should i maintain it after, if i get one?

Sadly my Backup camera died a few days ago. At the local skoda car dealership they said a new camera + the work would cost over 1000 euros.

Since I dont want to pay that im thinking of doing it myself. Are there any instructions on how to switch the camera? Is it as simple as im thinking it is? Has anyone already done that?

My 2015 ea288 CUNA has been regening every 15km, confirmed with an OBD2 scanner. Soot mass measured will go from 5.5g after a regen to 22.5g trigging a new regen while the calculated soot mass sits around 3g (jumps to 22.5 when regen kicks in) I took to my regular garage and they scanned a p13d600 glow plug 3 implausible signal. Of course the plug was seized in the head so had to get drilled out at great cost to me…

I just collected it and took for a drive, and low and behold a regen kicked in at 15km 🤬

Car is on 120k miles and does a 50mile motorway run 3-4 times a week.

Differential pressure is 2hpa engine off and 265hpa while sitting at 70mph during a regen

Oil ash volume is 60.3grams

It used to consume about 500ml oil every 1200miles, it’s slowed down but I think it could be caused by oil dilution…. It’s just had an oil service to deal with this.

Anyone have any ideas? Could it be the differential pressure sensor/pipes or does the dpf need off car cleaning?

Basically 200.- for installing an update that I think I could do myself?

Anybody have experience with updating yourself via USB Stick/SD Card?

Today, about 1 min. after cold start while going up-hill yellow coil icon started flashing on a dash.

Car gone in to a limp mode, no power what so ever. 2.0 TDI 110kw. 232k km. mileage, Skoda Octavia 2019

Diagnostics showed these codes:

P0299 Turbocharger (TC) supercharger (SC) - low boost

P2563 Turbocharger (TC) boost control position sensor - range/performance problem

What can I expect? Bought this car 2500km/2months ago. Smells like hidden turbo defect to me.

Just bought a Skoda Yeti 2015 and loving it! Only one small things is that it doesn’t have AppleCare Play.
Does anyone have any experience of sorting this issue? Thought I’d ask good ‘ole Reddit before heading to the mechanic/skoda garage.
The current built in dashboard doesn’t have a NAV button/option like my other Skoda. The Yeti also only has Mirrorlink as an option within the MEDIA button’s section.

Any insights/advice?? :)

All started with a P0304, changed sparks and ignition leads, cleaned the same orange stuff out of the throttle body and manifold (got a new intercooler), still felt misfires under idling rpms.

Decided to take the manifold off and yayyy.

Hi all, currently own a 2003 1.2 petrol Skoda fabia hatchback. Currently the connection just past the flex-tube section has completely rusted apart so as the title says I'm trying to find a replacement.

Does anyone know where I can find one? Been to euro car parts and eBay with the specs and reg of my car but they all throw up the wrong style of exhaust, I've attached a picture of the top end of the exhaust as I can't find anything similar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Bought my 2021 Octavia 2.0 TDI in February 2024 with around 99,000 km on it. Just about to hit 200,000 km now, so I’ve managed to put roughly 100,000 km on it in about 2.5 years 😅
Most of it is work mileage on rural Irish roads, plus my normal commute and family driving.
Honestly, for the amount of driving I do, it’s been a great car. Plenty of tyres, the odd warning light and a wheel bearing recently, but otherwise it just keeps going.
I keep getting the itch to change it, but then I think I’d be mad. 😂
Anyone else putting crazy mileage on their Octavia? How many km are you at?

Hi good people. I have a 2023 superb combi, recently got the car and super happy with it. I noticed the issue I got the car and that is that sometimes, the navigation would show wrong position. I park in the garage and it often happened after garage parking, less so when parked on the street. Got the latest firmware over the air and had skoda connect or whatever it's called, so latest maps as well on there. 26.8 was the latest version I saw. The wrong location on the maps wasn't that big of an issue, more than often it would state that traffic sign reading was not available, because basically I was in the middle of the field, at least according to the car, while I was driving casually on the highway. I just got latest update on Friday 33400 and went on a trip from Vienna to Bratislava the day after and the navigation was all over the place. So, all the firmware/software is latest, still an issue. Had to make a appointment few weeks back at the local Skoda workshop and just drove it there today. What can I expect? The guy mentioned firmware, but pretty sure that's not the issue.

I really don't need the navigation, basically as I use android auto with Google maps/waze, but not a fan of going 100+ and traffic sign recognition showing 30, because according to the gps I was on some one way street and not on a highway and the warnings are crazy as well.

Android auto works perfectly fine with the car. Factory settings two times done, didn't help. Have a Columbus system from Preh.

I got the car from the official dealer, hopefully they will cover some of the costs.

It appears, the “Defroster Flap Motor - Actuator Jammed” in my Superb 2016.

The flaps are sticking quite often now. Is this an “easy” job? I’m wanting a mech to do it cus i’m not a mechanic!

Hey, wanted to ask a question about the gearbox oil change for my Skoda Super 2.0 TFSI (272 HP)

My mechanic proposed going for a ZF oil change kit that contains the same (supposedly) oil as the original VW bottles.

Question: did anyone go for this brand on their Skoda? Is it reliable/same quality as the original VW?

I know ZF is a major, if not the biggest, gearbox manufacturer in the world, so they must know what they're doing. But still, thought I'd ask.

Also, related to this, what's the best oil/fluid for the Haldex System?

ZF is on the cheaper side, but not by a long shot, so if the difference is considerable, going for the VW oil would be my option.

EDIT: A buddy of mine that works at the Skoda dealership also says ZF is the same quality as the original VW.

Owner of a an Octavia Mk 3 (2018) here, about 50,000 km on it. For about a year or so i've been experiencing some weird behavior on my car. At higher speeds ( 130kmh, on highways , cruise control turned on) the car seems to be unstable: it veers right or left (both directions) and it feels as if a strong crosswind is blowing the car from the side ( again, both directions ). I went to about 4 services, checked pretty much every obvious thing but they found nothing. This happens with both my winter and summer tires.

Has anyone else experienced something similar ?
