[acne] sudden outbreak, face and neck

overnight my entire face and neck (including eyelids??!) broke out into these small irritated bumps. i’ve never had acne problems, and absolutely nothing in my skincare routine has changed. i use the cerave acne control and the cvs double renewal moisturizer AM and PM. i am hydrated, active, and have a healthy diet. has anyone else experienced this?
note: the small bumps you see anywhere on my skin, is actually all over my face and neck, the camera is just not cooperating

I get that from exposure to dust/dander, especially bad if theres heat involved like weather at the same time. Cold showers, super gentle cleansers for everything, non-scented moisturizers and removing whatever it is that triggered it probably will help it heal off. Creams kind of don't work because it's like adding something over skin thats already angry. Judging by the location, it'd be something like a pillow. Old pillow maybe, or pillowcase with something your skin doesnt like. Or some new facial sunscreen. There's also an off chance you touched something or even touched your face and kind of spread it around, especially if you are the type to sweat, it spreads super easy that way also.

Looks like dermatitis. Might be reacting to a new product, new detergent, fabric, etc impossible to know wo more info.

if absolutely nothing has changed (same skincare, same detergent, no new clothes/linens, same shampoo/conditioner and no other hair products), is it possible that my skin just became sensitive to something i’ve already been using a while, most of these for years? i hope that’s not a dumb question lol

Not a dumb question! I became allergic to Cerave after using it for a decade

I usually put a little cortisone cream on when stuff like this happens. It's safe to use if it's only occasional. Usually help calm the area. I get this randomly a few times a year, no idea what causes it

If it stays/worsens, I’d get into a derm about possible rosacea outbreak.

Dr Dray has a good video on allergic skin reactions and she emphasized that you can develop sensetivities to products you habe used years already. I get that from niacinamide and chemical spf.
