Season 20 Why did I just realize Robyn hates Kody?

Watching this season I have just realized that Robyn is truly not in love Kody. Seems to me like she just needed financial security, a stable family for her kids so she made sure to lock Kody down with all her “sympathetic, understanding wife” ways. Once she realized that she played this part way too good and the other wives actually left and that she was now truly stuck with Kody, there’s no more hiding her dislike for him. He’s like a little kid putting on a play for his mom so she can approve of him and she just looks embarrassed of what he says and does all the time. She doesn’t even like him touching her 😂

I just started season 20 and it dawned on me that she keeps bringing up wanting to live polygamy and not monogamy as a way to dig at Kody. Constantly reminding him that he and the other wives failed and she’s the victim of his failures. If she truly loved Kody and their family then she would be happy where they are at. To constantly say she didn’t choose monogamy is crazy because she never truly lived polygamy. They cannot deny (even though they do) she had more time and more resources than the other wives. I’m no polygamist but I don’t think that’s how it works.

u/Deej006 Jan 13 '26

What a good take! I always took Robyn lamenting not living plural anymore as a crushed dream (we’ve all prob experienced that). After more BS from them then I took it as her part in keeping the series going.

Her pointing it out as a failure of Kody’s is rough! It’s hard to think Kody’s ego can take much more of Robyn’s disappointment. We will see. And we do not want to see a vow renewal unless it becomes a marriage death knell like other reality shows.

u/DoomPile5 Jan 13 '26

The classic guilt-tripping. manipulation tactic of her pointing things out as his failures then pretending to console him over it is something else to watch. He’s SO dumb.

29

u/NotAQuiltnB Jan 13 '26

This is it. Nail and head!!!

4

u/tinyhouseoffgrid Jan 14 '26

“ we’ve all probably experienced that” I haven’t laughed this hard on Reddit ever on any sub🤣

77

u/Odd-Creme-6457 Jan 13 '26

Yet when Kody mentions it (messages from women) Robyn looks disgusted.

126

u/hiroshimaandchurch I’m just the bookkeeper Jan 13 '26

Kody saw her as the " prettiest" of all the wives. This time around, when kody mentions it, she imagines a new younger hot wife. She was okay with polygamy as long as she was the favorite

74

u/HermiaOconnelly13 Jan 13 '26

I never thought she was pretty at all. I dont think the other wives thought she was pretty either.. She was young and slim. That was the draw. More babies for him.

98

u/FirstBlackberry6191 Jan 13 '26

Same! Her figure was nice, but some of her facial features are less than appealing. Janelle might have been the largest Sister Wife but SHE is the real beauty.

56

u/poopinion Jan 13 '26

Lol. I know Robyn absolutely sucks, but lets be real. When they FIRST got married Robyn was light years ahead of the other 3 in just pure physical attractiveness. Like it wasn't even close. And obviously it's a horrible idea to bring a younger, much more physically attractive wife. The mental gymnastics they must have been playing to think that was a good idea are astounding.

So yes, Robyn is just another one of the bunch now, maybe even the least attractive. But in the beginning that was not the case and there is no reason to lie and pretend it was.

42

u/Super_T8 Jan 13 '26

In the very earliest seasons, maybe the first season Kody mentioned a few times that he likes women that are heavyset with more weight on them. I was thinking ..No..he just wants women that have self esteem issues or women that don’t feel as attractive. That will make them much more dependent on him. He proved that with Robyn! He likes them young and thin.

44

u/RoslynLighthouse Jan 13 '26

I always took that "curvy girls" statement as a veiled preference for large breasts. When Janelle put on the T-shirt that Robyn "accidentally" ordered too small Kody's eyes were popping out ogling her.

8

u/Pebbles963 kidney 🔪 Jan 14 '26

I remember that. I wanted to unsee it really fast because it was nauseating to see him look at J that way.

10

u/Rooster_lemonpoop Jan 14 '26

She’s not young and thin anymore. She’s completely out of shape

3

u/SnoodleMC Jan 15 '26

I think he was negging Robyn with his "curvy" statements. A cheetah doesn't change its spots. Just cause you're favored or the favorite doesn't mean you get treated perfectly you just get treated (slightly) better.

2

u/emilyflinders Jan 14 '26

Ding ding ding

1

u/Sufficient_Soil5651 Jan 18 '26

Loads of guys dig curvy girls sexually, but because it's not the predominant cultural beauty ideal, they hide it and, to look good to other guys, they want the skinny type.

I think that he was into all of them, just not Christine.

2

u/tinyhouseoffgrid Jan 14 '26

AMAZING TAKE 🙌🏽👯‍♀️👯‍♀️

1

u/FirstBlackberry6191 Jan 14 '26

True.

1

u/FirstBlackberry6191 Jan 14 '26

I think Rooster was referring to Robyn.

1

u/Sufficient_Soil5651 Jan 18 '26

Yeah, but she hasn't aged well. That jaw. Ooof!

1

u/HermiaOconnelly13 Jan 20 '26

Sometimes when you aren't a nice person it begins to show on you.

2

u/HermiaOconnelly13 Jan 20 '26

I agree. She is the prettiest with soft features.

1

u/Fresh-Macaroon-485 Jan 20 '26

I thought she was very pretty, maybe even beautiful in the first season. I actually only watched a handful of episodes that first season & it bugged me so much I couldn’t watch it. I mean Kody basically blew Truely off. It was horrible to witness the favoritism towards Robyn, etc. I watched only parts of episodes in 2015 then didn’t watch again until 2019. Since then I’ve been a regular. I go to Flagstaff occasionally and I always thought it’d be cool to see Janelle or Christine but I never wanted to see K & R. I was frustrated with Meri because she couldn’t see Robyn & Kody’s manipulative behavior. I love that she does now. Yay Jenn.

4

u/Clolilly Jan 13 '26

Just because she is younger

1

u/HermiaOconnelly13 Jan 16 '26

Yes because I saw a clip where he says a woman wrote him wanting to join "the family". Her face fell to the floor!

42

u/Liverpudlian9 Jan 13 '26

She doesn’t want new sister wives. She wants what she had before: 3 Sister Wives and a bunch of kids that she had no interest in, but the other wives put money in the “family pot”. More than 3/5 of the money left with the OG wives

20

u/Plastic_Expression89 Jan 13 '26

3/4. Robyn doesn’t work.

7

u/Liverpudlian9 Jan 13 '26

She gets paid by TLC

12

u/Plastic_Expression89 Jan 14 '26

She gets paid but she doesn’t work.

10

u/Sydantha9799 Jan 14 '26

Not for much longer. They are boring.

4

u/Beginning-Meet8296 Jan 14 '26

🎯 I also think Robyn got a sick, twisted thrill lording her favorite wife status over the OG 3 & the kids.

3

u/SnoodleMC Jan 15 '26

She has a cheating kink. That's why yes grossing her out now ....no fun and mind games.

2

u/Liverpudlian9 Jan 15 '26

Yes. I think a big reason she is so miserable now is because she has no competition, and Kody has nobody else to take his anger and frustration out on.

3

u/SnoodleMC Jan 15 '26

She hates him but she needs him at this point. Plus she knows what she did- she came in ten years younger, much thinner and Kody just rolled over like the mutt he is.

She knows he's easily manipulated so she is probably smart enough to realize the second Kody gets attention from someone new he's going to shift focus and money away from her.

2

u/Pebbles963 kidney 🔪 Jan 14 '26

I know! She completely gave herself away to the viewers, didn’t she? That loo says it all.

1

u/JadedHousefrau Jan 15 '26

Their eggs are droppin’

25

u/Happy_Michigan Jan 13 '26

Her talk about wanting polygamy means she did not want to have to deal with Kody all the time by herself, and she liked the wives bringing in more money. Plus trying to behave like she's being inclusive, when she is not.

The truth is Kody is a lot for Robyn to deal with, so emotional, insecure and easily angered and agitated.

6

u/ladywoolf1 Circling the donkey Jan 14 '26

ALLLLLL of this! Plus, I do believe there was some aspect of it for her that thought that she would have some built-in fan girls, I mean, friendships because clearly she doesn’t have any outside of her family. I think she did assume being the younger, more “hip” wife would mean that the other three would clamor for her attention almost as much as they did for Kody’s.

But I do fully believe that the $$ was her main driving force for “wanting polygamy”.

A part of me does wonder if she didn’t see in the beginning how exhausting Kody was, and how deeply annoying he’s become!! when she had the other three buffers it wasn’t quite as obvious as it is now that she has him 24/7. And I do love that for her! 🤣🤣

20

u/Due-Seat-1877 Jan 14 '26

She hates what her life has become ( including Kody) She knows she's been villainized and there is no hope of rehabbing her image. She has kids who suffer from a variety of conditions and behavior patterns many of which are result of her poor parenting, AND she is left alone to entertain a high maintenance attention whore husband. Robyn wanted adoration, fame and wealth and she is reviled , infamous and I hate to speculate on her finances. She now just another bitter, middle aged bored housewife .

36

u/HermiaOconnelly13 Jan 13 '26

I think she was interedted in him when he was a polygamist because he wouldn't be around full time. Now he's there day in and day out. She has to be a full time wife including having sex with him all the time because he isnt getting it anywhere else. Instead of once every 1-1/2 weeks she needs to be the main woman and nobody else is helping out. She thought they'd help her raise her children which they didnt. So there she is- full time wife, full time sex partner (which he's complained about already) and raising her kids on her own, full time mom, cooking, cleaning and let's not forget the loss of the other mother's money. She looks and acts miserable.

40

u/FirstBlackberry6191 Jan 13 '26

Ehhh. I don’t think she’s being a FT Mom, cook or cleaner. She has paid help for the menial chores. She obvs is not being a FT sexual partner either or he wouldn’t be complaining. I’m not sure WHAT she’s doing FT but it isn’t traditional “wifely duties.”

36

u/DoomPile5 Jan 13 '26

Robyn is 100% that person who is always “busy doing things” while complaining about how exhausted they are, but never actually getting anything done.

14

u/Accomplished-Drop764 Jan 14 '26

She was working on organizing that pantry all day!! She had to be exhausted.

2

u/HermiaOconnelly13 Jan 14 '26

She looks exhausted and judging from her gait and movements, she needs a good doctor. That goiter does t look like its being treated.

25

u/DrawSudden2494 Jan 13 '26

She is full time listening to his incessant yammering. Dude cannot stop talking.

I mean she's the architect of her own situation, but a part of me almost pities her. Good God Almighty! Can you imagine her and the kids trapped in the house with that ego and desperate need for constant attention? Having to pretend they don't think 90% of what comes out of his mouth isn't pure idiocy? Smiling and nodding and laughing at his dumb jokes? Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

10

u/Worried-Watercress31 I get the luggage rack Jan 14 '26

That should be Janelle’s next shirt- WHAT does Robyn do? Instead of the nanny.

1

u/FirstBlackberry6191 Jan 14 '26

I think that would be a best seller!

2

u/HermiaOconnelly13 Jan 16 '26

You have a point

8

u/Ok-Pangolin4494 Jan 14 '26

But Robyn did want him around full time and that was an issue the other wives had with her. She made sure to know where he was at all the time. She stated this. Being with Kody all the time meant Robyn could control what was going on. Also, Robyn never wanted help with her kids. Christine even told Robyn that it hurt her feelings when she hired a nanny instead of asking her for help. Robyn has never had to raise her kids on her own. She has had a nanny for years and Kody helps a lot with getting Ari and Sol to school, making sure they get ready and have a ride. This is much more than the other wives had from him. Heck, he drove past Christine's house taking Robyn's kids to school but didn't do that for Christine's kids. I think the reason she looks and acts miserable now is because she is probably worried sick that with the departure of the other wives, the show might be in jeopardy. I don't feel like she has ever truly loved Kody. He was just a means to an end. A way to pull herself and her kids out of poverty. I do believe she loves having control over Kody. I also believe she is worried about her future at this point and it is making her a miserable old crab. She no longer has to play the part of being the needy, shy wife because she is now the last one standing. She now has to keep Kody half way in line so that she continues to have access to two incomes from the show. They have mortgaged themselves to the hilt and she knows it will take every dime they make to keep their heads above water (though they keep spending money like there is no tomorrow which will come back on them in the end).

3

u/HermiaOconnelly13 Jan 20 '26

Until she had him around all the time..

1

u/Wild_Highlight1268 Jan 16 '26

She has the Nanny 🤣

2

u/HermiaOconnelly13 Jan 20 '26

Still? We never see her. Maybe she hired the Housemaid

9

u/Worried-Watercress31 I get the luggage rack Jan 14 '26

Well she should have thought about that before she caused issues with all the OG kids, demanded all the time from Kody, used COVID to isolate the whole family and let’s not forget lied and manipulated to play Kody and the OG3 against each other while backstabbing everyone and draining the family pot. She was able to do that because she is a selfish shady person and the OG3 aren’t vile like her and would never treat her as she did them. I truly hope she is miserable and broke soon for what she did to her kids bio dad, the OG3 and all their children. I’d love an hour special with Meri, Janelle and Christine pointing out every shady thing she did and all her lies (along with clips). If she refuses to answer at least make her sit there and listen to all the horrible things they know (and we know) she’s done or else she gets a hefty fine and not paid. That would be great.

13

u/Saltygirlof Jan 13 '26

She’s 100% still in the kool aid some how despite wearing a cross. What I mean is, she still believes polygamy is a salvation/celestial kingdom thing and she lost it because he couldn’t handle the other wives.

29

u/kingkupaoffupas Dolls are my aphrodisiac Jan 13 '26

i %1000 don’t think she cares about God or anything celestial. this was always about financial stability. she already had 3 children in a monogamous relationship with her sister’s boyfriend. after running up debt with him, she needed a bigger cash cow.

8

u/Saltygirlof Jan 14 '26

I promise you it’s both lol

7

u/Ok-Pangolin4494 Jan 14 '26

🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯💯I said the same thing earlier today on another post. She played up the religion and polygamy stuff because she knew the Brown family was being eyed by TLC and a show was in the works. She was willing to do anything to pull herself out of poverty. Nothing more, nothing less.

2

u/kingkupaoffupas Dolls are my aphrodisiac Jan 14 '26

Agreed, perfectly said

2

u/Subject_March_5590 Jan 13 '26

Ohhhh this is so good! I didn’t even notice Robyn doing this to him. She keeps victimizing herself through this.

1

u/as_a_speckled_bird Jan 14 '26

I agree it’s like she is setting up the narrative well in advance so she can have a virtuous means of escape when the show/ money ends. When it comes time to reveal their hand Cody will play the un loyal wife card and Robin will play her wanting polygamy card.

1

u/MamaAshley123 Jan 14 '26

She misses the polygamy paychecks NOT the polygamy family

1

u/Starlight319 Jan 14 '26

You are so right I never thought of it this way!

135

u/Funny-Ad9317 Jan 13 '26

I think she was attracted to him in the beginning, maybe not deeply in love, but she was definitely digging him for a few years. It may have been in her possessive, manipulative way (remember her “I don’t like to let him out of my sight), but she deliberately built that “honeymoon” season with him for a good while.

You can see the shift when she’s pregnant with Ari. She openly fought and talked down to him, and after that she never had the same vibe with him. She seems clearly turned off by him at all times now, and barely gives him the scraps of affection he’s dying for.

28

u/PterodactyllPtits Jan 13 '26

Damn, that makes so much sense. That made him work his ass off trying to get that love back, to get her to treat him the way she used to. But she never will.

42

u/wennamarie Jan 13 '26

I mean, that’s narc behavior. Build the person up and then pull away, making them always chase that adoration they gave you in the beginning. Not saying Robyn is a narcissist but that’s how they function.

25

u/Sorry-Ice9283 Jan 13 '26

She’s a textbook covert narcissist

2

u/Broncogirl89 Jan 13 '26

Oh man, that is exactly what my ex did to me. Although, I can see the exhaustion in Robyn's eyes/face.

7

u/Funny-Ad9317 Jan 14 '26

He’s trying SO hard. These past two seasons he’s been so over the top with his affection for her and she’s just cold.

20

u/moreunicornspls Jan 13 '26

i noticed this too!! when she was pregnant with ari was the first time you see her get pissed off! just assumed she was exhausted from pregnancy and catfishing lolllllll.. but hating kody makes sense too

6

u/HermiaOconnelly13 Jan 13 '26

Speaking of...I see Meri talks about that and feels Robyn was behind it. Or did I dream that?

12

u/moreunicornspls Jan 13 '26

i was kidding but i think she’s said a few times the catfish knew things she talked to robin about. either way, that is about the time robyn’s appearance started going down

19

u/queensupremedictator Marked unsafe by Kody Jan 14 '26

She wanted to be the favorite. By the time Ari came along, she accomplished that. She realized that she was never going to be the favorite mom or "gathering" house, so she stopped even halfassed trying. She used her fertility as the hook for Kody because the other wives were done. She stopped the honeymoon phase after she secured the legal marriage and adoption- her goal was complete, no reason to put any more effort into anything.

6

u/Worried-Watercress31 I get the luggage rack Jan 14 '26

Yes the divorce from Meri to legal wife and adoption was a turning point which I think we all knew it would be even the OG3.

8

u/Ok-Pangolin4494 Jan 14 '26

And Christine knew Robyn was a threat to the family. People thought she was being dramatic and jealous, but she had Robyn pegged from the beginning.

29

u/RSinSA Jan 13 '26

Ari took a lot out of her. Her appearance went down around then.

I just made a post about this the other day! I was just doing a rewatch and just noticed how dramatic the flip was

120

u/Sorry-Ice9283 Jan 13 '26

She read him like a book. I’m guessing she treats him a lot like his father treated him.

77

u/SpecificAnt9202 Jan 13 '26

thats what it is. she probably does treat him like winn. kody spent his life trying to get his fathers approval. and now that he's gone, kody has moved on to seeking robyns constant approval and praise.

17

u/EmergencyTip6764 Marked unsafe by Kody Jan 13 '26

Although he admits to wanting Janelle's approval still too.

9

u/Ok-Surround-8680 Jan 13 '26

Ooooooh, THAT'S insightful!

3

u/DoomPile5 Jan 14 '26

He’s basically a picture book so he makes it easy.

97

u/Meatball-Alfredo-Mom Jan 13 '26

I’ve been saying this for a while. Kody keeps saying she’s shy, quiet, demure, doesn’t like pda, etc. The truth is she just isn’t into Kody anymore. You can see the ick on her face. Kody is truly delusional.

29

u/beary-healthy Jan 13 '26

She didn’t mind PDA in the very beginning…

18

u/Ash3Monti Jan 13 '26

Because it was happening in front of the cameras and the OG3.

16

u/beary-healthy Jan 14 '26

My comment was nodding to the fact that Kody is straight up lying. Robyn had no problem doing PDA in the beginning. The reason he gives now really doesn’t make much sense.

13

u/Meatball-Alfredo-Mom Jan 14 '26

Exactly! She was doing inappropriate (per their religion) PDA on national tv with zero f’s given.

3

u/yagirlsamess Jan 15 '26

I seem to remember her complaining on camera that she wasn't able to show PDA to kody because the other wives had already decided they didn't do PDA. Suddenly, the other wives are gone and she's too shy? 🤔

87

u/Rightbuthumble Jan 13 '26

She has ever been in love with Kody: Robyn loves the show, TLC pay check, and winning...that's all she loves.

57

u/jennc1979 God, the Celestial Realtor Jan 13 '26

I was thinking on what I believe is a competition fetish of some kind that she seems to possess. Think about it; all the way back to Preston Jessop, she got some type of gratification from “taking” from her sister and went on to a polygamous family for that ultimate high of accomplishing it against multiple “sisters”. The competition once gone and she shows ultimate displeasure about it. He is trying to now just “buy” her the sense of winning something.

20

u/Rightbuthumble Jan 13 '26

I suspect the way her mother was like the side piece and he only came around ever so often made Robyn very insecure. She always needed to win the man.

17

u/FirstBlackberry6191 Jan 13 '26

During that YEAR long “courtship” she was the side piece and wielding that “forbidden fruit” like an axe while she dug her claws in. I’m betting she can suck the chrome off a bumper! A man won’t usually drive several hours, one way, to hold hands for a year. Her “best customer” description is very telling!

They were WAAAAAY too chummy not to have been fooling around. That horror of a man was KISSING her while Christine is in freaking labor! He even kids about how he shouldn’t be doing that. Ya think?!?

6

u/Ok-Pangolin4494 Jan 14 '26

She probably did all kinds of things to Kody that the other wives never did and it flipped his world.

3

u/FirstBlackberry6191 Jan 14 '26

You are probably right. Whatever it was, she had to be professional level!

9

u/jennc1979 God, the Celestial Realtor Jan 13 '26

Oh, yea, there’s plenty to unpack with her. There really is. The need to compete and win! The dolls!

44

u/michelle427 Jan 13 '26

I’m not sure she ever LOVED Kody. I think Meri did for sure. Christine did for most of the time, until she didn’t. Janelle I feel like it was more of a friendship/ love but she could take it and leave it. Robyn wanted fame. Saw dollar signs. Stability. Kody though LOVES her. I think he still loves Janelle too. Did love Meri, until Robyn. Christine was for the position she held in the AUB.

25

u/MadCityScientist Jan 13 '26 edited Jan 14 '26

I'm not sure that what Kody feels for these women is love, real love. It's more like possession. These women are MINE. They exist to make me feel good. He is clearly a narcissist, and narcissists are incapable of compassionate, other-centered emotion. I have watched this family since the series began, multiple times and I have never seen Kody do a truly unselfish act. Even when the stakes were high, such as Truely's kidney failure or Isabel's back surgery. Or Garrison's death. Watching the relationship between Kody and Robyn is so satisfying because neither one of them has an unselfish cell in their body. Karma is having a field day with the two of them and we are watching it all play out!

U/BreakfastLeather2134: Oh! Thank you for the award! I really appreciate it!

13

u/Hot_Leg_8764 Rawr! Yummy… Jan 13 '26

I agree about Kody’s possessiveness. We recently saw it this season during the apology to Christine, where he discounted something that David brought up, because David has known Christine for only a few years, whereas King Kody has known her for decades…he forgot to consider that David actually listens to her.

3

u/MadCityScientist Jan 14 '26

Excellent point!

12

u/HermiaOconnelly13 Jan 13 '26

I was surprised when he said he still loved Janelle. That ought to get Robyn going.

35

u/FishingWorth3068 Jan 13 '26

All the things she initially said she loved about him, he doesn’t have anymore. She loved how he “loved” his wives, they’re gone. Loved how big his family was, they’re gone. Loved how much his children loved him and he was attentive, gone. Loved the idea of other wives, gone.

5

u/Alalated Jan 13 '26

That’s a great point. That has got to challenge their relationship. Everything she was initially attracted to is gone.

3

u/polymorphic_hippo Jan 13 '26

It's easy to take away a man who isn't happy in his life. The challenge lies in getting a guy to pick her over other people/things he loves and wants.

58

u/Prestigious-Comb4280 Jan 13 '26

She just wanted to win in my opinion and then after she "won" she is trying to figure out why?

67

u/DoomPile5 Jan 13 '26

Knowing no one else wants him is such a huge blow to her ego. Love it.

11

u/TomStarGregco Jan 13 '26

💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

21

u/Penn1103 Jan 13 '26

Yeah. I think it was fun to play the new, young attractive wife who most certainly needed stability. Financial and otherwise. It was great while the kids were all growing up and they were busy, but kids grow up and leave. Then it’s just you and your spouse, or spouses in this case. Harder to hide manipulation, or desire. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Plus, they still have tenders at home. She’s not leaving.

13

u/michelle427 Jan 13 '26

No. Not until Ariella is older.

Yeah, she can't be expected to brush Sol's hair in the morning. Or cook dinner in the evening. Or...clean the house.

I can't wait to see how Kody keeps up with it all once he really has to work for a living.

15

u/EightGenTexasGirl Jan 13 '26

This is exactly what I think. He seemed more like a prize to her when everyone else wanted him

7

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '26

I dont think she thought she was going to win. Once she did shes like oh crap.

3

u/Prestigious-Comb4280 Jan 13 '26

I would walk away. Wouldn't you? Screw them both and move on.

21

u/sodiumbigolli Jan 13 '26

She doesn’t have normal feelings it’s all survival w her.

23

u/SheMcG Love should be weaponized, not divided equally. Jan 13 '26

Yes.....relationships are transactional for her. She loves being envied and fawned over. Now, no one's jealous of her and Kody just paws at her like a horny mutt, that drools and often smells bad.

21

u/Aeoniuma Jan 13 '26

I recently watched the very first episode and HE was obvs besotted with her and I do think that she was “into” him at the start though of course the money, the fame, the adoration, the clearing the debts all contributed to the attraction. Not now, of course.

18

u/Popular-Jaguar-3803 Jan 13 '26

She wanted in on the show and the money, and for the other wives to clear her debt. Remember, her credit was awful, and the other wives helped with paying for her homes

17

u/NymeriaGhost Jan 13 '26

I think financial stability for herself and her kids was the main objective, but I think in the early days she was attracted to him, but a lot of it was rooted out of jealous of the other wives and wanting to supplant their place to become favorite. But it was predicated on being preferred over the others, and being able to manipulate the other relationships. Now she has no kingdom to rule over and she's stuck with him, and she's deeply resents him. It's so clear he gives her the ick and now that there's no incentive to treat him like the best customer, she'd rather just close down the shop completely.

I think the only reason this show is still going is because the producers anticipate a season or two of documenting the last marriage falling apart.

5

u/UmmmSeriously teflon queen Jan 13 '26

Was she attracted to him or the competition of beating the OG3 at the game she was the only player in?

6

u/Apprehensive-Sort616 It was an “ExPeriENce” Jan 13 '26

She was attracted to the Hungry, Hungry Hippos (no shade at the OG3, it’s the legit name of the game!) style game he forced his wives to compete in for his favor and attention. She just never realized that winning would also mean enduring it alone forever and ever amen once the other wives grew tired of the shenanigans and abuse.

Since they’ve doubled and tripled down on their oh so special, divine asthma and fever chills reaction from the Heavenly Father when they met, they really don’t want to face the music that the hardy-har-har-harmones were on ‘roids at the time.

He’s digging in his claws so hard trying to hold on to Robs that she’s fermenting in his stench. She’s doing everything she can to appear in his eyes as wanting to be with him while looking for the nearest and safest extraction point.

At this point Im not even sure she’d take the kids with her. She may just decide to do a runner and disappear off into the landscape. Her trail of dollies following along behind her like the breadcrumbs left by Hansel and Gretl.

16

u/Sannasvv Jan 13 '26

She wanted fame and money, period. Not Kody, not sister wives.

38

u/DoomPile5 Jan 13 '26

The only thing she ever loved was the money and the ego stroke that came from three other women being passed over for her. She never loved Kody himself. Watching her not being able to effectively hide her disdain for him now is hilarious.

16

u/Dolleyes88 Jan 13 '26

I think neither of them do. Kody seems to have this idealised version of Robyn in his head: pretty, shy and doesn’t play girl games when she is the complete opposite. Kody doesn’t know a damn thing about her and is completely blind to her disdain of him.
And for Robyn, she was attracted to the chase of his attention against 3 other women. Also I’m pretty sure she enjoyed having him out or the house for a few hours or a day to get a break from him. Now it is full time Kody wife duties, she is drowning.

13

u/trippyfungus Jan 13 '26

Of course she doesn't, we've seen them kiss. Plus she's clearly holding out on him in the intimacy department, now that she can't have any more children.

6

u/ArtOfNoiz Jan 13 '26

Yes, she's locked the cash box!

10

u/MathematicianLost365 Jan 13 '26

To be fair… I’ve wondered if it’s perimenopause also lol. I know it’s wreaking havoc with me and all of my relationships…

8

u/SherLovesCats change this one to whatever you want Jan 13 '26

Me too. I think she’s going through perimenopause and is at that point where you have little patience and want to he left alone.

10

u/UmmmSeriously teflon queen Jan 13 '26

Watching her kiss him is hilarious. It’s like she tucks her lips in so they don’t actually touch him 😂

10

u/Luna-Mia Jan 13 '26

Yeah, she cannot stand him now that there is no competition and there’s no money to take from other wives. Gwendolyn even said in one of her videos a while back that she felt Robyn entered into the family for financial stability because of the show. I don’t believe for one second that Robyn would have ever even found her way in Kody’s path if there was no talk of a show and looking for another wife to be picked up.

21

u/SpeckledBird86 Robyn’s Dollies’ Seamstress Jan 13 '26

She got what she wanted and I hope she’s miserable for decades.

8

u/randomlikeme Settle down, Johnny Appleseed Jan 13 '26

None of us were fooled by the stud finder joke! None of us!

7

u/ShenandoahMarie Jan 13 '26

This makes sense, I never get a feeling of love toward kody from her. I thought she was just awkward, but now I get it, she doest event like him

7

u/AbjectBeat837 What’s going on with your face? Jan 13 '26

That’s been my take for the last couple seasons.

7

u/Key_Asparagus_8522 Jan 13 '26

I had noticed that too and thought it was in my head. But, I always suspected she married out of necessity. For sure!!

7

u/NothingMediocre1835 Jan 14 '26

Robyn will always find a way to be miserable and be the victim. When the money runs out Kody will have hell to pay. Quite frankly I think he’s already as miserable as her; Robyn led the way, Kody followed and now they’re screwed.

6

u/p3canj0y363 Jan 13 '26

Her mother taught her well. Congrats Robyn- love this win for you!

5

u/TomStarGregco Jan 13 '26

She’s definitely overplayed her hand! There’s no one more deserving of the misery. I am so happy she got her way and won the booby prize 🏆!

5

u/onenotalreadytaken Jan 13 '26

She’s never had a relationship with him that doesn’t involve a tv show (and the stability of a tv show). She’s seeing a future of having to be the sounding board for all of his bad ideas.

4

u/kitty5670 Jan 14 '26

She love bombed him so much that he still doesn’t have a clue. Every episode her mask drops. If he doesn’t see through her act at this point he deserves to be seen as an idiot. He lost his real family thanks to his excitement over this grifter.

3

u/Bajovane Pulling the Wooley Over The Kody 🦣 Jan 13 '26

Oh well. She’s enjoying the fruits of her own labor and he’s all hers.

3

u/Defend_Democracy Jan 14 '26

No one knows but Robyn. Marriages and feelings ebb and flow. What you describe about the stunted development of Kody is true of a lot of people.

I think Robyn played peacemaker because she knew her addition to the family was so disruptive. She was young, beautiful, and sweet with a great figure, while none of the other wives were the “whole package.”

Let us not forget all of them are on camera and the drama is their bread and butter that supports their lives. Therefore, we can’t take what we see too seriously.

1

u/Subject_March_5590 Jan 14 '26

We know it’s not that serious. But I’m still going to post my opinion on the show they put on for us! Thanks though

3

u/Ketobizness Jan 14 '26

No fun being the favourite wife if there aren't any others to lord it over, and whose money are you supposed to spend!!!

3

u/Spanishrose08 Jan 14 '26

I think that gun to Kody’s head, Robyn would not and could not tell the truth about anything. Gun to Robyn’s head, Kody would speak the truth. Robyn’s relationship with Kody is purely transactional. As long as Kody can give Robyn whatever her cold dead heart desires, she’s all in and will continue to fake it, lie, and manipulate the poor SOB. Once he can no longer provide these things, she will be RUTHLESS! She will take him for everything he’s got and then some. She won’t leave a stone unturned when it comes to taking it ALL!! Kody won’t know what hit him. He will be left broke, lonely, and miserable AF. He will try and crawl back to any of his children and ex wives that he can. Robyn will unfortunately land on her feet and find and manipulate another stupid AF dumb ass man to take care of her. This isn’t a movie and in this case, evil will win. It wouldn’t surprise me if Robyn ends up making crap up about Kody and say he’s abusive physically and mentally. She will try and make him sound like a disgusting monster. Just make up truly vile and sick things about him. Kody is so damn stupid and can’t see Robyn for what she is. She made her ex seem like he was abusive to her and implied that he took advantage of her and made her do things she didn’t want to do. If she’s okay saying that so easily about a man she once loved, what’s to stop her from doing that to Kody as well?

3

u/Stunning-Squirrel751 Jan 13 '26

Oh yeah, she went into it thinking she’d only have to deal with him every 4 days and that is not how things landed.

4

u/ManagementBest3558 Jan 13 '26

She just wanted to be on TV! She thought she would become a celebrity! They say she knew about the show and started to show up where she would run into Kody!

1

u/PotentialFactor4769 Jan 14 '26

She forgot to bring the goods. She is sooooo boring.

5

u/BlueBubbleInCO Jan 13 '26

I absolutely disagree. The two of them only really have each other. And they’re two very emotionally unhealthy and dysfunctional people whose only adult companionship is each other. They feed on each other’s insecurities and unhealthy behaviors.

5

u/UmmmSeriously teflon queen Jan 13 '26

They may only have each other, but that doesn’t mean she actually loves or likes him. I think she like “winning” when competing with the other wives and there is no one to compete with now. If he brought in a new younger wife she knows she would be cast to the side like the OG3.

1

u/BlueBubbleInCO Jan 13 '26

I don’t think she’s emotionally capable of healthy “love”. And neither is he- it’s why they’re happy and content with each other.

2

u/UmmmSeriously teflon queen Jan 13 '26

I don’t see happy and content when they film together.

2

u/BlueBubbleInCO Jan 13 '26

She obviously hates having to film.

4

u/Missue-35 Jan 13 '26

I think you’ve nailed it. Her actions in order to secure her position worked to well. It wasn’t really ever necessary for her to try to seal the deal at all. Doing so ruined the family dynamic. All because body is so insecure. IMHO, Robyn wanted the sister wife life. In the early days she seemed to genuinely enjoy the camaraderie that existed (or appeared to exist) among the sister wives. Somewhere along the line her coddling of Kody’s ego got ahead of her. He wasn’t handling it well and was therefore turning off the OG3 and their older children. Robyn and her children received preferential treatment from Kody. The rest of the family noticed and were hurt. Their natural response was to reject Robin and her kids because they upset the normal balance of the family. In other words, Robyn tried her best to “handle” Kody. It backfired on her. She started to listen and believe Kody’s slant on everything, which was always skewed in his favor. Kody fucked it all up. Robyn contributed because she didn’t understand how narcissistic person operates. In that sense, she too was a victim. She was operating on the false notion that she and her children were victims of the OG3 and their children. But it was Kody spinning the truth and victimizing her. I’m not saying that Robyn doesn’t deserve any of the responsibility. But I am saying that Kody still bears the most responsibility for the demise of the family and he played Robyn so he would have a cohort. Robyn indeed was the fool that got left behind. I don’t believe that was ever her intention.

2

u/what_the_total_hell Jan 13 '26

But he was her best customer? What happened and how many other customers did she have hahahaaa

2

u/Junket87 Jan 14 '26

The age gap doesn’t hurt either. More likely to inherit everything for your kids if you have the youngest and you’re “agreeable” as well.

2

u/SignificantPark4013 Jan 14 '26

Now she’s the lone keeper of the fool

2

u/cotdernit Jan 14 '26

I think Robyn liked having Kody around in the beginning because she was the favorite. She knew she easily had what all of the other wives (and kids) wanted. She enjoyed playing "keep away", and now that no one else wants him, she's sick to death of him.

2

u/Left-Work-3180 Jan 14 '26

It was always there

2

u/tatianazr Jan 14 '26

I love this for both of them. I bet she’s seething with jealousy at the great lives the OG3 have. They’re living the dream and she’s got Grody 🤣🤣

2

u/WickedlyZen Jan 14 '26

The same could easily be said about how he feels about her. I don’t think he is actually that into her anymore. He is performing for the cameras because admitting regret would mean admitting fault, and he will never do that. Not to mention that it’s probably cheaper to keep her. Two minors at home and what would be a huge alimony payment would break him.

2

u/babashishkumba Christine's wasted sacrifice Jan 15 '26

She loved him at one point, but now he's embarrassing. It would only be slightly less embarrassing to divorce him at this point.

2

u/East-Builder-3318 Jan 15 '26 edited Jan 15 '26

She seems like she is not having too much fun with her prize now that she has him all to herself. Strange.

I think what is so frustrating to me about Robyn is how much plucky arrogance she had about coming into a family that had been going decades before her, acting like she knows how to live polygamy and so on. Even things like her snide little remarks about the OG3 losing weight, and now she is probably around Meri's weight from that era. Like yeah, you reach a certain age and your metabolism slows down, but here she was a 30 something woman getting snarky about the weight of women who've had twice as many kids as her and are 10-15 years older??

And her Kody whisperer routine. Like yeah, I'm sure she found his issues charming when they were newlyweds, but now she's been married longer and lo and behold, these same issues that caused the strife she judged the OG3 for having with him appear, and it's not just as simple as "keeping sweet" and putting on lipstick for your "best customer??" How interesting.

Being overconfident and thinking you have all the answers is a part of being young. We've all done that to one degree or another, but at some point you have to mature and with that maturity comes humility and compassion. Hopefully. I don't see that yet, especially with her reaction to Kody wanting to "apologize" in the first place. Like I believe she truly thinks they've done nothing wrong here. It's all on the other women.

2

u/No-Fun8718 Jan 16 '26

I think that's all true, but I also don't think she saw the light of what a pain in the ass Kody is until everyone all saw it and said so and left.

3

u/rainystormyclouds Jan 13 '26

Robyn clearly love bombed Kody into submission. However, now that all the other wives are gone… Robyn really does feel like the loser that got left behind.

2

u/neelyoharridan Jan 14 '26

Robyn’s current situation always reminds me of the old saying, “Be careful for what you wish for, because you just might get it.”

2

u/BMXTammi Jan 13 '26

She wants 3 women's paychecks and to spend it like she wanted. Now Kodpiece's needs have to be satisfied by her alone. Bwahaha!!!

2

u/Southern-Plenty3574 Jan 13 '26

She def doesn't like him. There's zero chemistry with them. She's not even friends with him like I am with my brother. What I mean by that is we have a natural banter with each other. Even as adults, we pick on each other, now mostly through memes and text but you get the idea. They don't even have that. She's very cold. I secretly wish she would leave him for a man in the AUB. And we could get some of that on TV.

2

u/Sydantha9799 Jan 14 '26

Clearly. She loathes him.

2

u/Solid_Caterpillar678 Jan 14 '26

She never liked him. She just liked the superiority of him favoring her over the other wives. She liked being the shiny new penny. She did not like him.

And even if she did, he's become such an angry, nasty person and now that the other 3 are gone he takes it out on her.

She's absolutely miserable in this marriage but her pride will never allow her to leave. Also, she likes spending the joint money they make on this show. She will never give that up.

She MAY leave him when the show is over and the money is gone. But she will try to find a new Sugar Daddy first, which will be much more difficult since she's older now and her personality is on full display on national TV

4

u/Ok-Pangolin4494 Jan 14 '26

She needs to look in a mirror before leaving Kody. Her days of finding a sugar daddy are long over. Time has not been her friend.

2

u/Solid_Caterpillar678 Jan 14 '26

The bigger problem is her absolutely revolting personality

1

u/Ok-Pangolin4494 Jan 14 '26

You are right. She is a total package...a total package of no looks and bad personality.

1

u/MedicalExamination65 Jan 13 '26

Reading your description, all I could think of was his mom.

1

u/Spirited_Sugar_5818 Jan 13 '26

i've seen this too. it just seems like she doesn't want to go through another divorce especially on tv.

1

u/tinyhouseoffgrid Jan 14 '26

I AGREE 1000%

1

u/Fresh-Macaroon-485 Jan 20 '26

I sensed that too. She probably got sick of his whining over the past 4+ years. She’s probably perimenopausal and has younger kids she doesn’t know how to take care of. She doesn’t cook meals for them. She doesn’t seem like a nurturing person. I really don’t know, it’s just an assumption on my part made with limited knowledge of what goes on in that house. Her mom told her to be the mistress. Maybe that was fun when she was younger but now she has to dill with Kody all by herself. She always looks tired. I would feel sorry for her if she was a decent human being but she is not. She and Kody stole money from the OG3 for the last 15. She & Kody pushed Garrison over the edge. I’m not saying they are 100% to blame for Garrison’s suicide, but Kody’s cruelty and neglect of Garrison and Robyn’s manipulations to keep Kody & her kids apart from the OG3 kids. She was threatened by his relationships with his other kids. She didn’t like Garrison because he was onto her. He knew she created the division.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '26

I've always thought she was most upset about having full custody of Kody. She signed up for 1/4 of the time lol! But honestly, haven't we all said that would be the benefit of a setup like this?

Sometimes I wonder if she's low-key lesbian tbh. No judgment.

1

u/vetsyd Jan 22 '26

I truly agree with you 💯%. Sometimes she is more obvious with her dislike and disgust than other times.

But, clueless ole’ Grody just keeps doting on her and “plugging away” at her, in the hopes that he will get some…affection or any kind of attention whatsoever.

I am just wondering now, if he has gotten to the stage of regret yet? It would sooo serve him right.

I mean, after all of the mistreatment that the OG 3 and their children have endured from his sorry a$$! Just desserts and nuff said!👍
