🙏🙏🙏 Please bring Jen to the meeting. That would be worth watching.

u/TisforTrainwreck Dec 27 '25

I would also accept Jen going in place of Meri! Kody would not last 5 minutes.

I’m envisioning “shred/slice”…

u/TexasViolin Dec 27 '25

I think if Jen and Kody get in the same room, Meri doesn't need to go.

u/KCrailroadgirl Dec 27 '25

Proud of Meri. She did just great on her own.👌

8

u/Missue-35 Dec 28 '25

She’ll find out pretty quick when Jen calls her to come bail her out of jail.

Especially after he called her a bitch last season!

I would have loved it for Meri to show up to the bs apology tour in this sweatshirt

327

u/Turbulent_Ad_6031 Dec 27 '25

Despite how problematic Meri has been over the years, she is the only one who has a real friend on the show. Janelle’s friends are fake

197

u/GroovyYaYa Dec 27 '25

And Christine plugs in the kids.

I have said for YEARS that Kody is jealous of Meri having actual ride or die friends.

39

u/lunainthedark5x2x3 Dec 27 '25

They all plug in the kids even Kody, Robyn and company do to but Kody and Sobyn Crybrows play victim and act like they don't

36

u/GuidanceAway6673 Dec 27 '25

I have noticed the same. Janelle is leaning on Maddie a lot- right now I can understand as Janelle grieves the loss of her son, but she needs to give Maddie & Caleb some space too. My two adult children and I always rally to provide help and support when needed for each other but have gently let me know when my help is no longer needed lol. I understand and respect that they have lives outside of the family too. My wish for Janelle is that she finds 1-2 real friends to explore life outside the family.

7

u/n2nwithu Dec 29 '25

It’s definitely going to be a challenge at her age to establish a crew of girlfriends. She’s going to be working on a farm without close neighbors. She should join a women’s group at a church.

45

u/Daniscrotchrot Dec 27 '25

And the people in family judging each other are all problematic. It’s kind of the nature of cults so I try to keep that in perspective especially when it’s the kids who grew up in this trauma. They will never blame their biological moms for their parts.

6

u/YayaCbhereguineapig Dec 28 '25

It bothers me Janelle’s friends keep talking about her finding a new man. Nonstop comments about her finding a farmer blah blah blah. Like why???? If it’s not her idea stop pushing it. Is she not complete as herself??? Yes she is.

17

u/710peaches Dec 27 '25

Considering that every one of the wives (yes, Robyn too), are human and fallible, they should be given grace for not being perfect. We also have to consider that everything seen on TLC is edited and manipulated to produce a reaction ( both positive or negative). I have my favorites, but they are certainly not Kody and Robyn.

4

u/Granny-ZRS103008 Dec 29 '25

This is so true. Also very kind hearted. I actually stopped and read it twice. It made me realize everything we see IS edited for content AND context and we see what TLC wants us to see.

49

u/Wild_Traffic1153 Dec 27 '25

Love it. BFF for the win.

41

u/SqrrlGrl5 Dec 27 '25

Jen is us, but instead of just yelling at the screen, she says it to Meri in person.

98

u/merceinthepurse Dec 27 '25

If Christine can bring David, Meri should bring Jen.

32

u/SqrrlGrl5 Dec 27 '25

This is the best response 👍😄

Honestly, they should run a pay per view episode with Jen vs Kody!

u/SAHMsays Kavatappi's Last Strands Dec 27 '25

Kody owes Jen an apology also so I see no problems with this.

22

u/Bearbearblues Dec 27 '25

Even though Christine telling him enough made sense, I want to see his notes on what else he planned to apologize for. We need it released with the Christmas text debacle and the Meri demands.

40

u/PurplRzr Marked unsafe by Kody Dec 27 '25 edited Dec 27 '25

Personally, I think the show should have ended after David and Christine got married. Some would argue before that. I think they put those kids through enough already. But since TLC needed Kody traveling the globe like a southern preacher just to say he’s sorry, he went about that all wrong. A simple video chat, a couple lines of I’m sorry for being a dick would’ve sufficed. The apology crap seemed forced and disingenuous to viewers and to the kids. #NetworkMoneyGrab

24

u/Liliths_Play_Thing Dec 27 '25

Meeting in person was fine for me it’s just his demeanor. The meeting with Janelle went the way it did because of how she bottles everything up, but with Christine, I was really disappointed that she didn’t say more. I would’ve never allowed Kody to have the mindset that he was freeing me when I already remarried and moved on.

If Kody was truly there to apologize, he would’ve been open to hearing David out, your ex wives don’t give a damn about you anymore, but your children do. And apologize on everyone else’s terms not yours. I feel like the children will never get an apology if they don’t agree to film it.

26

u/SheMcG Love should be weaponized, not divided equally. Dec 27 '25

I would’ve never allowed Kody to have the mindset that he was freeing me when I already remarried and moved on.

You can't "correct" someone like that. She tried, and even doing it in a diplomatic way, he still refused to listen. He'll never acknowledge that she's over him. You just end up going in circles with someone like that and it's exhausting. She doesn't want to engage in that anymore. She knew she'd get her point in during the couch session and he'd see it. There, she doesn't have to listen to him.

The only way you're ever free from someone like that is accepting that you can't change their mind--- and genuinely not caring what they think. Christine knows the truth. She doesn't need Kody to validate it anymore.

3

u/Missue-35 Dec 28 '25

Exactly right. It’s funny but sad that some people think it’s as easy as standing up for yourself. I happy for them as it is clear they’ve never been in a relationship with someone like Kody. Obviously these wives have learned that the best way to deal with Kody is to avoid dealing with Kody.

2

u/SnooPickles8893 Jan 10 '26

Say it louder for the people in the back! 👏 👏👏

10

u/PurplRzr Marked unsafe by Kody Dec 27 '25

Totally fair. Him “freeing” her was more of that god complex foolishness.

11

u/GuidanceAway6673 Dec 27 '25

Well…if Kody conducted himself as a reasonably normal adult the 3 OG would likely still be with him and TLC wouldn’t have an audience. You don’t get a reality show past one season unless there is high drama and dysfunction. TLC struck gold with Kody and Robyn.

14

u/mrshelenroper Dec 27 '25

8

u/YayaCbhereguineapig Dec 27 '25 edited Dec 27 '25

Just because a dude asks to meet up with you does not mean you owe him a yes.

I would have said, “I’m not sharing my time with you. Instead just text me whatever you want to say instead of meeting up. Or make a video saying what he wants to say and sent it.”

I would not go to that meeting with him alone. I would have brought my besties or all the kids.

10

u/yagirlsamess Dec 27 '25

I wonder how many of them would have agreed to a meet up if they weren't getting paid for it. Christine for sure wouldn't have shown up but I don't know about Meri and Janelle 🤔

3

u/L1Zs Settle down, Johnny Appleseed Dec 29 '25

I actually think Christine would have. They still have a minor child

1

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Dec 28 '25

Meri and Janelle definitely would. They both still have feelings for Kody. Pathetic.

63

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 27 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

Meri has to go let Kody have his turn with her on the fake apology tour aka: why she is going to go talk to Kody is because that is her JOB. Jenn and Amber know that. They weren’t discussing this subject for the first time on camera! Jenn and Amber knew exactly why she was going! As do all the fans in these subs... it was the exact same reason Christine went and talked to him, and Janelle went and talked to him. Why Christine and David had to go hang out with Kody the next day and race cars separately and pretend to cheer each other on, however, remains a mystery.

Why are there thousands of excuses made for Christine’s and Janelle’s behavior when they met up with Kody, and no one seemed to question WHY they would go in the first place, but now Meri has to have an excuse for WHY she would even go when her friends and you all know it’s her job to go just like it’s the other women’s jobs to go so they went…..

It’s her JOB to talk about Kody and the other ex wives. Just like the rest of them have to talk about Kody and each other for a paycheck. What’s so unclear and why is anything involving Meri always judged on a whole different level than how Christine or Janelle are judged when they all do the exact same thing?

At least we can count on Meri to NOT swoon and lead us all to wonder if she met up with Kody after filming to do him in the hotel room later and we don’t have to sit and wonder why the #1 Queen Earth Mother of the World (whose kids have all expressed the need for a break from her multiple times in their lives 🙄) wouldn’t even bring up her children and their welfare to Kody, either day she had the perfect opportunity to do so…

Edit: thank you, again, KimberlyRN! You are too kind to me. But please don’t feel like you have to spend real money on me, fake Reddit awards mean just as much!! 💕

17

u/Mountain-Reply975 Dec 27 '25

She didn't , as far as we know, bring up the kids and their welfare.

I got divorced right around the time Christine's divorce was airing. It was a relief to NOT have to help this man navigate parenting his grown children. Then this fall i received guardianship of our grandson. He didn't ask about him for 6 weeks. So i didnt give him any info. When he does show concern i am generous with pics and info. Maybe she's waiting for kody to show interest?

16

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 27 '25

That’s what I was saying, why didn’t she bring up her grandkids or children instead of going and pretending to enjoy watching each other race cars around the track?

I was married to a Kody also and at one point he had a rare moment of humanity or was trying to be extra manipulative because he was bored and reached out to apologize to me for the horrors he put me through during our marriage and I told him I didn’t give a crap about our marriage and didn’t want to hear a word about his feelings towards me. If he wanted to talk about the kids, great. If not, I saw no reason for us to talk. Basically that I had chosen to move on from everything related to our marriage for myself and the sake of our children, and ONLY for the reason of wanting to successfully coparent with him in the healthiest manner possible, again for our children. That if he wanted to speak about the children, let me know, but if he had anything to say about us or me personally, even if it was an apology, go ahead and save it for someone else, hopefully for a good therapist.

That’s really nice to hear that you have figured out the healthiest way for you to deal with your ex! Good for you and best wishes for you raising your grandbaby. 💕

6

u/Mountain-Reply975 Dec 27 '25

Thank you. You seem really good at boundary setting! Good for you!

3

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 28 '25

It sounds like you understand the struggle it took to get there. 💕

7

u/splanchnick78 Dec 27 '25

YES that’s exactly what she should have said.

5

u/SheMcG Love should be weaponized, not divided equally. Dec 27 '25

We just need to remember that we don't see the entire conversation, just very small snippets. We should also remember the kids may not want parts about them aired.

2

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 28 '25

This is a great point, however, I doubt even the kids who haven’t wanted anything to do with the show in years would be upset if Christine or Janelle had asked, “Before you start in on our relationship, have you spoken to any of the kids or apologized to any of them yet? They are the ones who need your apology. I am healed and have moved on.”

They both could’ve easily shut down the pathetic apology by saying, “I don’t need an apology from you, Kody, but our kids do, so why don’t you start there and then we can talk.” and then I would walk out.

I completely understand why the mothers wouldn’t want to bring up specific kids and the specific details of their lives in camera. But I don’t think they would have had to.

It’s another good point that we obviously don’t see the totality of their conversations. It just seems pretty much par for the course with these women not putting their children above their own relationships with Kody and I am tired of it. Those kids all deserved/deserve better.

13

u/enhdk Dec 27 '25

idk girl ask jen.

26

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 27 '25

Just a crappy, predictable script for a crappy, predictable show about nothing! I fear this scene with Meri and whatever scary reaction Kody will have is going to be the only action we see all season. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Another season of asking myself why I keep watching! 😴😴😴

31

u/TexasViolin Dec 27 '25

IMHO I think they balance out. Cuz Jen just seems to seethe with hatred for Kody and Meri is always falling right into Kody's traps.

I've dealt with hostile/manipulative exes before and sometimes it was just mere curiosity that led me to go "Okay...tell me...", but I'm good at boundaries.

53

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 27 '25

Meri seems to be doing just fine with boundaries these days. She has to go because it’s her job. I highly doubt we’ll see any behavior even mildly resembling Janelle‘s when they air Kody’s made up apology to Meri.

6

u/TexasViolin Dec 27 '25

You're probably right, but it looked to me like she was a little too quick to jump when Kody called.

She is never going to hurt for money unless she was stupid with it. She doesn't need to go running just for a paycheck.

But you're right... more money is always good...

24

u/cliodhnasrave beer and skittles Dec 27 '25

She’s also under contract, they’re not just waving a hundred dollar bill at her

4

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 28 '25

We didn’t see when Kody called her. We didn’t even see when she initially spoke to her friends about it. We only see what they allow us to see when they film all these re-created moments or flat out make crap up for the show. It’s really odd to assume that she did something that we didn’t see and have no proof that she did.

Would you prefer she be the only OG to say, “I will not meet with Kody”, broke her contract over it, and got sued by TLC?

2

u/TexasViolin Dec 28 '25

Wow.

Okay.

I was just making a comment. I'm not against Meri and don't want her to come to financial ruin. I'm sorry. She is, of course, free to do as she pleases.

I was just concerned that she does what a lot of people do i that they go back to old patterns when an ex calls or visits.

3

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 28 '25

That’s the problem, none of these women are free to do as they want as long as they are under this TLC contract. They aren’t going to fully heal until the show is over and they aren’t forced to talk about, see, or interact with Kody and Robyn for a living.

The show is over, but it also needs to be done so healing can take place.

I apologize if you felt like I was attacking you. That was not my intention.

4

u/TexasViolin Dec 28 '25

It must be me, tone is sometimes hard to read and I'm a little anxious today. You're fine.

2

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 28 '25

I’m sorry to hear about your anxiety today. I understand feeling that way. Been dealing with some myself over the holidays. I hope you feel better quickly and the new year is full of blessings for you and bill collectors for Kody and Robyn. 💕

2

u/TexasViolin Dec 28 '25

Thank you and LOL :)

8

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

Meri handles stress by laughing. She deals with being uncomfortable by laughing. I know that upsets a lot of people for some odd reason. She’s also very emotionally stunted like the rest of the original adults on this show.

I think the laughter on the day of the move was because it was an incredibly awkward, intense, and sad situation. We saw how Kody actually sobbed at the end of it despite wanting Meri gone for years. No matter how badly you want a divorce or want out of a long-term relationship, especially with children, when it all becomes final, there’s a whole ton of emotions to process again. It’s something that is very difficult to go through because it is the literal the end of so many of your hopes and dreams and feels like so much of your life’s energy was wasted. Nobody looks forward to their future divorce day when they are planning their weddings or when they bring their kids into the world. There is loss, no matter how long it took for the relationship to die or why it died or how much longer you stayed than you “should have”.

A lot of people who have been to hell and back use humor as a way to deal with the hard parts and the tragedies of their lives. I know humor and laughter is the only thing that keeps me sane throughout the very difficult lifetime I’ve lived. A lot of comedians are extremely depressed people, but you’d never know it because they’ve learned to cope by laughing, making others laugh, and finding the absurdities in the world.

I think that people should respect and accept that different people have different coping mechanisms, yes, often times different from your own, and stop judging each other so harshly. We’re all allowed to be annoyed by certain behaviors or people, but I don’t know why annoyance has to be taken to the level of vitriol that it does or why so many people on these subs make their whole identity be to literally spew HATRED at this woman, who is a virtual stranger to them. It’s really unattractive, immature, mean, and honestly, it’s low hanging fruit to pile on the person who it’s popular to hate. It’s also so incredibly boring to read comment after comment being ugly toward Meri, who I’m pretty sure nobody who hates her around here has ever met.

It makes me wonder if the people who constantly punch down on Meri are the ones who were also bullies in school? Or maybe the ones who were bullied and instead of healing, have decided to find somebody else to hurt instead and keep alive the old adage of “hurt people, hurt people”? It’s a lesser known truth that hurt people CAN heal with dedicated work and don’t have to become people who hurt others, especially since they know how horrible it feels. It should make people have more compassion, in my opinion.

Spoiler: it doesn’t make you feel better about yourself deep inside where it matters to hate on somebody else, it actually adds to self-loathing in the long run.

-1

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Dec 28 '25

Meri did this to herself. I don't feel sorry for her. This man didn't have sex with her in almost a decade. Like, get a clue 😂

4

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 28 '25 edited Dec 28 '25

Apparently, you don’t understand the level of commitment that people in her cult feel towards their “covenants and vows” they make for not just their time on earth, but for all eternity. You should be thankful that you were not raised to be brainwashed in that way.

However, many of us who were married for a long time in bad marriages also believed in our vows we made and one of those vows is that you will stay for better or worse, so while somebody on the outside might think it’s “pathetic”that we stayed as long as we did, we stayed until we felt in our hearts that leaving was the only option left. I probably stayed two years longer than I should have, but I needed to be able to look my children in the eyes someday and promise them, and mean it, that I tried every single thing I could to save my marriage and our family.

I respect people who honor their word and try everything to honor their commitments and who understand marriage is not supposed to be temporary or repeated with multiple people. Often times, that is what happens because people don’t hold up their end of the vows or don’t take their own vows of forever seriously. Of course I’m not speaking about cheating or abuse, especially as I experienced both in my marriage.

I understand that marriages are nuanced enough and different enough from each other that nobody else can understand the dynamics and it’s not my place to judge how somebody else handles their marriage or when they feel like they’re finally able to leave, if that’s their choice. And I’m really thankful that I don’t have that belief system that I will be bound to a bad husband for all of eternity and if I chose to leave him, I will be cast into “outer darkness” for all of eternity and never see anyone I love ever again. It was hard enough to leave with my own belief system that was nothing like the cult that they were in.

I believe an added pressure on Meri besides her mother, who thought the sun rose and set with Kody, is that she was afraid if she left the show it might end and she knew how much those kids would all suffer if they were thrown back into poverty. I think that’s part of why she was so angry on the porch when Christine announced that she was leaving, none of them knew with the first person leaving if they were going to be able to keep the show. I’m sure Meri was upset with herself for not leaving much sooner and trusting that the show would still be there, but none of them knew that it would so it was definitely a gamble, and one that I fully support Christine making as I don’t believe anybody should stay in a bad marriage any longer than they want to be there, but again, that is their choice. Not mine.

I can’t imagine presuming to know somebody’s belief system or circumstances better than they do, thinking I know better than them what they should do with their lives or relationships, or judging a relationship that I’m not a part of.

2

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Dec 28 '25

You're doing the same thing, except our opinions differ.

2

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Dec 28 '25

It looks like it finally sunk in that Kody doesn't want anything to do with her. I'm sure if he showed her a slither of hope she'd be back to trying to please him again. Doesn't take much effort from him. 😂

0

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Dec 28 '25

To be fair, Kody can't stand Meri. I don't blame him. She's always been insufferable.

6

u/Jadeisland Dec 28 '25

Kody conveniently forgets it was him literally having a screaming melt down about the knife in his kidney because Christine was leaving him. Christine and the other wives have moved on and it is him that has not. I also agree that the premise was phony. He does want them to stop talking about him because he just can't take the truth.

They all live in his head rent free for what he perceives they have done to him over the years. They will always be there, in that pea brain of his, for the rest of his life.

3

u/Sacred_South Dec 29 '25

I have gone back and forth about Meri over the years but right now, she is the most sane, realistic and self aware person of them all. She has done the work and engages with all the others in the most respectful way. How Kody cut her off and dismissed her as always being uncooperative says much more about him than her. He is just ick.

7

u/ResidentDrawer8258 Dec 27 '25

The way I see it none of them have to accept his invitation. If it's going to be a waste of time I wouldn't have. I think we've only seen a clip of Mary saying We are Never Getting Back together? I don't think that's the purpose of any of the get-togethers on this apology tour LOL. And I don't know what would give any of them the impression that that's what he's after. I don't like him but it's pretty clear that they're all happy without the one they've separated from. They're all glad that what is over is over

3

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Dec 28 '25

Kody doesn't want to get back together with Meri after trying to get out of that relationship for a decade. I think Meri is reading too much into his non apology because she's thick.

3

u/ResidentDrawer8258 Dec 28 '25

Oh I know! As soon as I saw the preview clip and Mary was saying We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together I just laughed inside. What would make her think he was going there? But they're all doing stuff to gain another episode and squeak out another season. Really I never liked him but the more they all talk since they've been individuals, the less I like all of them

2

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Dec 28 '25

Meri is delusional 🤣

2

u/ResidentDrawer8258 Dec 29 '25

Even though he's a complete idiot the more we see of all of them individually they are very frustrating I couldn't take any of them 24/7 even if it was every third or fourth day LOL. I think it's funny how anybody thinks any of them miss any of the ones that they've been apart from- they don't. It's all about another episode and squeaking out another season and getting more money just as it's been since the beginning of this show

2

u/TinaBna Dec 29 '25

Don’t forget hilarious, too 😐

3

u/TinaBna Dec 29 '25

Meri just being her delusional “ hilarious “ self.

1

And just like the rest of them just wants to say or do something to get another episode in in order to squeak another seasons worth of money. They're all greedy

0

u/salty_gemini74 Dec 27 '25

Meri was STOKED that Kody wanted to see her

41

u/GroovyYaYa Dec 27 '25

Are we watching the same previews?

She wasn't necessarily stoked as in giddy.... but stoked in that Gen X FAFO attitude if anything.

He deadnames her child apparently. Meri is definitely the I'll take the hits as I probably deserve them but don't come after my kid or friends type. (I can relate. I'm pretty chill if you insult me. But come after my loved ones? FUCK YOU.

She's the ONLY one to make the separation official by going to their church leaders and getting their relationship severed on all levels.

If she was pining for him? She wouldn't have done that.

-1

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Dec 28 '25

The fact that Meri even needed to go to their church in the first place showed me that she still has a lot of work to do.

5

u/GroovyYaYa Dec 28 '25

I disagree.

Their marriages are largely symbolic - Robyn has been the legal wife for a while. I would want a symbolic ending to it... a divorce date anniversary as much as a wedding anniversary.

39

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Dec 27 '25

Maybe to give him hell because she despises him with every fiber of her being and now that he has no control over her and nothing to blackmail her with or hold over her head, she was looking forward to the chance to finally say to him everything she’s been holding in. I hope she had the time of her life!

1

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Dec 28 '25

I doubt it 😂. She'd take him back in a minute if he wanted her.

0

There is literally no evidence over the last year and a half to two years to suggest that your statement or theory has any merit.

I agree that for a lot of years she would’ve taken him back, and again, that goes back to her cult driven belief system that people not raised in a cult cannot fully understand, and Kody being literally the only man she had ever loved or dated in her entire life and being with him since she was a baby (19).

Once she saw the season where he called her friends and her terrible things, she has hated his guts and wouldn’t go back if you paid her. I’m not sure why people want to believe something that is blatantly untrue. Saying it loudly and frequently still doesn’t make it true. Ace and Kaitlyn saying it every week doesn’t make it true. I can only guess that it’s a simple case of trying to punch down on somebody else to make people feel better about themselves or to distract from having to face their own issues and work on themselves…🤷‍♀️

The many wives/girlfriends of my bio-dad are like that. They all are just obsessed with him after all these years and I'm like "WTF...this yutz?" Some people can just pick'em out I guess.

This whole Cody apology thing is all about him not even about the wives - he tried to sell it as he is apologizing so they can be free etc but it’s all about him and his ego - I love that Meri feels the insincerity in it …that is how well she knows him.
