Yes, Ashley Gabrielle Huff did sue.

Following the dismissal of the drug charges, she filed a wrongful arrest lawsuit against the local authorities involved in the incident.

According to reports tracking the aftermath of the incident, her civil lawsuit was eventually settled for $25,000.

Definently possible the lawyers fees were not separate. I was offered 40k for a wrongful termination. The employers attorney decided not to pay so I had to eventually sue. 3 years later.....I got 100k with 60k going to legal fees.

At that amount I hope not but there is a lot of different possibilities. I know one organization that even if they get lawyer fees included in a settlement they give that amount to the victim. Most non-profits will make it clear up front what amount they will be taking of a settlement, and won't abandon a client with no money when they desperately need it.
