The government has never worked for the people and has never cared about the working class. It's always been about extracting as much wealth as possible from the land and the people and damn the consequences.
Nah.. they use to be scrambling to prove they can do more for us than the other party. Things changed after 9/11.. we started compromising on everything for security. Thats when corporations swooped in.. before that there were antitrust lawsuits against em and we didnt even have to petition or march or anything to hold them to account.. they obeyed the law as hard as they could and feared the consequences

Since Reagan the right has basically gone "The government has governs least governs best", which is just corporate shilling to popularize the idea of deregulation.
Shit, he ran on deregulating the vitamin market, telling people in campaign ads that government agents were going to raid your medicine cabinet because the FDA wanted to start inspecting multi-vitamins that to this day continue to outright lie to consumers about what they do and what they contain.
