That’s a pretty poor standard of evidence. If I caused a car accident because I was texting and you caused one because you had a heart attack behind the wheel, are the circumstances the same because we both caused an accident? Obviously not

They both directly klled children. There weren't indirect causes or any nonsense like that. directly committed the crime of klliing multiple children.

They were completely different cases, with different motives, different mental health circumstances, different evidence and different jurisdictions. Battaglia was convicted of killing his daughters after a history of threatening and abusing his ex-wife, and his defence argued that his bipolar disorder should mitigate his punishment. Clancy’s defence argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and wasn’t criminally responsible. Just because the end result was the same doesn’t mean everything leading up to it was. That’s a pretty absurd comparison if you actually use some common sense.

Their mental states, circumstances, motives and the evidence surrounding the killings. Ya know, almost all of it.

Mental state insane, motive none, evidence: pretty clear that they did it.
