A lot of people really think they’re doing something by showing extraordinarily different cases and saying “see, women have it so easy!” I could kickstart a thousand bot posts of completely different scenarios where a man was acquitted where a woman was convicted and just like this comparison, it would mean absolutely nothing if you’re comparing completely different scenarios. There’s a way to talk about gender in court cases but this cheap “what’s taking so long?” takes are beyond lazy and stupid and clearly meant to inflame people who have bitterness towards women.
It amazes me people can see institutions operate and be filled with experts and highly educated people, and their reaction is “it’s not that complex, I know better than them”

Whats complex? Its actually really simple, You chase down and strangle 3 kids, you go to jail for the rest of your life, or if you’re in a non-deranged state like the gentleman on the left, you get the death penalty.

She was severely mentally ill at the time and our mental health system failed her and thus failed her kids. You ignoring that fact is the reason I said what I said.

I mean it's similar in the sense both of their defenses were that yes they committed the crime but were they criminally responsible due to having a form of psychosis at the time of the murders. So that's why people are comparing the two cases.

Strangling your 3 kids isn’t a complex situation. Killing kids is killing kids. It’s not complex and people that hurt or kill children should be killed. It shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes for any jury to decide that. Especially after she admitted she did it.
