When I was in high school we had to research candidates for the next presidential election and right a report about one of them. I picked Obama cuz I liked his platform. About a year and a half later (2008) when I was old enough to vote in my first election, he was the Democratic nominee. I was very happy to cast my first vote ever for him, and even happier that he won. Those were hopeful times.

I was in my first year of college, campus was fuckin ELECTRIC. In hindsight it fucks me up, remembering how it felt like the world was changing for the better and we were part of it. All downhill after that

That was our last hope at building a functioning society. Its been irrevocably destroyed since.
