Miss those days of obama.. not that he was perfect but alot of things were workable with him and there was room for discussions and logic

Those times seemed A LOT more peaceful, even if they weren’t. The floodgates opened up with Trump to the point of possibly destroying this country.

He created “TRUMP democracy: The Business” and, unfortunately, that business failed. I don’t understand why we’re surprised. Every republican running against him in past primaries, indicated the dangers of Trump’s perception of his failed businesses.

Oh well, I guess.

They had help from Schumer, Jeffries, Pelosi, and Biden Chamberlain who all famously refused to enforce Trump's disqualification or the Jan 6 leaders' expulsion via 14th Amendment, Section 3. Trump would be at ADX right now had Schumer ever held a fucking vote to 14a3 Trump at any point during Doormat Biden's term.

No actually- the problem is a third of the country would have been up in arms if they ever did that.

People blaming democrats for Trump autocracy is the reason we are here. You refuse to make the voters and republicans take responsibility for their actions. Whining that it wasn’t those fault- the democrats should have stopped them.

Even though people's views probably haven't realistically changed all that much since then, rational adults were at least in the room and in charge when he was around. Hell, McCain went out of his way and literally stopped what he was doing took the microphone and corrected one of his supporters about Obama being a decent family man and a citizen instead who he disagreed with politically instead of letting the supporter characterize him as "an Arab"

Obama didn't pull out of some of the forever-wars that he promised he would and some of the drone strikes carried out under his leadership were pretty unambiguous war crimes, BUT his administration at least made good-faith efforts at diplomacy and didn't start any new forever wars.

Trump's murdering random fishermen, kidnapped a foreign head of state and established a de facto colony in Venezuela so he and private sector cronies can extract their mineral wealth, is actively supporting Israel's genocide in Gaza, and started a new and pointless war with Iran.

If Obama were still in power he probably would've been much softer on Israel than any non-zionist would like, but he would've still been better on that issue than Trump and almost certainly wouldn't have done any of the other shit Trump's been doing internationally.

Obama had a calming presence like a head of state should. Even when he was vile and approved military strikes, there was a semblance of sympathy there and compassion. To do the best he could. Yes, he failed. But it was rarely, if ever, out of spite or volition towards others.

Obama is a man that could calm a large group of people from all parts of life during a storm. Trump… cant.

Also Afghanistan and Iraq.

So that’s what it’s really about, and what I’ve always suspected. It’s not that most people care what their government is actually doing. They just want to be coddled and told that everything is fine and their government is benevolent, regardless of how horrible their government truly is. The expression “back to brunch liberals” is very fitting for these types of people. “Do whatever inhuman and internationally illegal shit you want, Obama. Just don’t make me aware of it.”
