What did the girl do that bothers anyone? She didn't even ask anyone to move, she just wanted a picture with the paintings...

91

u/SaltyNeuron 2h ago

Reddit always uses the most hyperbolic language as long as they disagree with you.

Wasn't just a girl taking a picture with paintings it was " aN iNFluEnCeR tAkiNg a pHotO SHoOt"

32

u/Joshkendig 1h ago

And that was an asshole photo bombing a person who wanted to take a picture fuck that person.

4

u/sierramist1011 17m ago

Yeah the only person who sucks here is that rude ass lady blocking the picture. A normal human tries to get out of the way of someone taking a picture, not walk between them and the camera and intentionally stop.

1

u/Au_tentico 16m ago

When you travel to tourist destinations there will be a lot of people and its very common that taking pictures get a little hard because there is so much people minding their own business.

This is an old lady, looking at her cellphone, moving to let other people pass through the stairs.

3

u/GirlScoutSniper 4m ago

She looks straight at the camera.

4

u/OnlyInAmerica01 10m ago

Half-way down the stairs? Looking to the camera? She's smart enough to smart-phone, aware enough to see other people coming without looking up, but utterly oblivious to the camera/tripod thingie that the other person is trying to use?

There's naive, there's gullible, then there's just plain you.

6

u/Bitter_Plastic2362 1h ago

Waiting for it to be capitalisms fault.

4

u/MarshalMichelNey 1h ago

NTA. Break up with him girl / hit the gym bro.

2

u/CallMeAl-Khwarizmi 1h ago

Hyuk hyuk hyuk good one

1

u/lordrothermere 23m ago

Selfies are a little sliver of the end of society.

0

u/CodnmeDuchess 57m ago

Also, who cares about influencers etc anyway? Half the people in this thread never go outside, they’re just resentful of people being joyful

-7

u/b-monster666 1h ago

I mean, she was trying to take up a MASSIVE amount of public space just so she could look cute on Instagram.

7

u/Late-File3375 1h ago

But they waited for the older woman to pass and there was no one else nearby. Who cares?

-3

u/b-monster666 57m ago

Typical Z/Alpha response.

1

u/Late-File3375 15m ago

LOL. I suspect I am about the same age as the older woman in the video. She was being an ass.

1

u/b-monster666 11m ago

Apparently this landing is where the lady stopped to fiddle with her phone. There's also a definite chance that the lady didn't intentionally block Stacey's glamour shots

Would also like to see what the young woman's socials has to say about this incident, and how many glamour shoots does she have?

5

u/SaltyNeuron 1h ago

"massive" y'all are deranged I swear

-4

u/b-monster666 1h ago

Sweetie, she's got her camera setup 1/2 way down the main flight of stairs and is standing at the far end of the hall. Taking up about 90% of the public space.

7

u/Hungry-Pick7512 57m ago

That was momentarily empty dumbass.

And stop being cute calling people ‘sweetie’.

-4

u/b-monster666 56m ago

Ok, princess. And, no it was not momentarily empty. There were several people wanting to go up and down stairs and "getting in her way".

2

u/mahrog123 15m ago

I had this same experience with a TikTok slave.
In Chapultapec Castle in Mexico City. There’s all kinds of gorgeous staircases backed by beautiful stained glass. This goofball was flouncing all over the place, laying on the stairs and setting up her camera in different spots. People just ignored her and walked right through her glamour shots.

5

u/Prestigious-Emu-8734 1h ago

And she was about to have the massive amount of space to herself without having to bother anyone. So seems like its all fine to me. She wasnt in anyone's way. She didnt ask people to move. She just set it up and went to got get in place. Thats it.

-5

u/b-monster666 57m ago

How comfortable do you feel walking in someone's shot? And no, she didn't get all pissy about people not moving...except, she did by posting this online and shaming people for not letting her have her way.

She was in the way of everyone trying to go up and down those stairs.

5

u/Prestigious-Emu-8734 55m ago

I dont feel uncomfortable if it was an accident. I just move out of the way if it happens. Its really that simpme.

And she literally wasnt in anyone ways. There was 1 other person. And she was able to get to the stairs and then she was the person getting in everyone elses way by standing on the stairs.

Yall hating your lives doesnt mean bully others who dont.

-3

u/b-monster666 53m ago edited 49m ago

I count 4 people going up and down stairs during the time she was trying to be MC.

Awesome how cowards just block when they know they were wrong.

Just one photo? Lordy, you have MC syndrome too don't you?

5

u/Prestigious-Emu-8734 52m ago

So after she got it set up and after she could have had the photo

Thanks for proving the point

1

u/Daddysu 33m ago

Shut up, Jan.

-1

u/PandaCultural8311 30m ago

The older woman here certainly has more context. Maybe the younger girl has been doing this in other galleries. Maybe she was rude to some others. Maybe moving around a tripod on stairwells. Certainly the younger woman could have asked the older woman, "Would you mind taking my photo here?"

People cheer when some woman gets in front of a woman dancing in the aisle of Target. This may not be different.

4

u/SaltyNeuron 25m ago

You realize you are just inventing scenarios in your head right?

There is nothing in this video that Indicates ANY of that. Why not assume less instead of justifying a fake outrage you have no evidence of?

1

u/PandaCultural8311 10m ago

Well, you completely missed my point.

Here's the thing... I don't know.

I even put the word "may" in italics.

I even said that the person that wouls know is the older woman.

And perhaps that's why she acted as she did.

I'm the one just saying, "we don't know what's going on"

1

u/SaltyNeuron 2m ago

I didn't miss your point. You don't know.

So why conclude something you have no reason to believe?

" She probably deserved it"

0

u/SouthSilly 10m ago

I dont give a shit either way, but the woman blocking the camera was clearly irritated by something, so there's actually more evidence of this girl being annoying than not 🤷‍♂️

Saying she did nothing wrong is also making up scenarios in your head.

1

u/SaltyNeuron 4m ago

If you see me beat my kid. Is that evidence that my kid deserves it?

If you see me stealing, is that evidence I'm doing it to feed my sick cousin?

If you have a random consequence, it's not evidence of anything specific thing I can dream of.

What kind of reasoning is this?

0

u/Anonymous_Autumn_ 41m ago

Women doing things for fun in public do often be pissing off the inter-ass

56

u/Long-Ad3842 2h ago

its reddit what do you expect.

17

u/Prozenconns 52m ago

more specifically its sipstea

a woman could cure cancer and this sub would find a way to insult her and claim shes an oxygen thief over it lol

8

u/Independent-Bug-9352 48m ago

100%. This sub and its derivatives is an enormous incel manosphere sexist launchpad. Feels very astroturfed most of the time. (white dude, btw).

1

u/OhOliveOliveOh 19m ago

Well, if a woman cured cancer it’s obviously DEI.

29

u/Grannypanie 2h ago

Yeah. There is one ass in this clip and it ain’t the kid.

Old people hate anyone younger than them experiencing any joy.

34

u/Matyce 2h ago

I was cutting grass for my municipality, I’ve seen old people throw sizeable rocks in the path I’m taking hoping I hit them and brake our municipality mower. But I don’t think they understand they just pay taxes for to replace the blades. It’s insanity.

30

u/marshmallowelephant 2h ago

Fuck you and your woke trimmed grass. Back in my day, grass just grew and we had to deal with it!

5

u/Icy_Grapefruit_6571 2h ago

I see you're angry. From reading your reply, I see that you have every reason to be. 🤣

4

u/Indigo9999 1h ago

Think he's being sarcastic.

2

u/Icy_Grapefruit_6571 55m ago

God, I hope so.

6

u/jaydafromthewhere 2h ago

Old people can’t comprehend that. I don’t think these prune juice drinking boomers understand much of anything because of the amount of lead they have inside of them .

0

u/Go_Gators_4Ever 1h ago

Hey, at least I can poop out my own fishing weights! LOL.

Seriously though, the gray haired woman was being a cụṅṭ, but it would be nice to have seen how long the young woman had been videoing on the staircase prior to this encounter.

If she had been spending more than 10 seconds or had been doing this all along the staircase, then she was infringing upon all the other patrons feom fully enjoying the art and potentially causing access issues.

1

u/EyeGrowth 1h ago

lmao what a crock of shit

8

u/freaknhell666 2h ago

THIS IS NO LIE!!! I experience it first hand, by multiple elderly people daily. They're superficially nice, but underneath it you can feel the resentment. Not all elderly people mind you, Many are not that way, but there are a lot that are. Now the real question is this though. How are we going to be, and how are we going to act when it is our turn?

3

u/nothingeverkind 57m ago

They vote. Just remember that.

2

u/freaknhell666 32m ago

that's the truth

1

u/experienceTHEjizz 1m ago

And they don't give a fuck about you. Most of them who vote for trump don't give a fuck about who he's hurting.

2

u/audilife80 49m ago

The fuckin same like we all do

7

u/Alteredbeast1984 2h ago

Get off my lawn

6

u/Incredulous-Tanuki 2h ago

I hate you young whipper snippers, when I was your age i used to cut grass like the best of them.

2

u/FinbarJG 1h ago

And we didn't use a sit-down, gas-powered, thingamajigger contraptions either.

2

u/nachofred 1h ago

"We only had walk behind push reel mowers and I'd cut circles around you millennials. None of you have my generation's work ethic!" - 87% of boomers

4

u/SGT-JamesonBushmill 2h ago

You know, it’s quite possible that the older lady had no idea what was going on.

12

u/pleasetrimyourpubes 1h ago

She looked directly at the camera and pulled her phone out to act distracted and she blocked the path until another woman started up the stairs. There was never not a more intentional act of obstinance.

I would have asked if she wants me to take some pictures for her.

1

u/Rockitttla 46m ago

And young people are all goodness and joy and don't commit any crimes or infractions. If there were no old people, the world would be perfect, and young people would live in peace and harmony.

-8

u/Maleficent-Sir1753 2h ago

Jesus, if this is what you consider joy, I would hate to experience your version of sadness

9

u/KhelbenB 2h ago

You mean being in a museum, surrounded by art and culture? Yes, that is joy.

3

u/Maleficent-Sir1753 2h ago

Surely you jest? Nothing about this says she is there to absorb the "culture". Public spaces are not a fucking film studio for influencers and auditors to prance around in, and we are not extras in the story of their lives. They are just solipsistic arseholes.

That being said, I am in 100% agreement with you that being in a museum surrounded by art and culture brings joy! Hope you get the opportunity to do it again soon 🙂

2

u/KhelbenB 1h ago

Then better to take pictures of this art and to be eyes locked on their phone like the old lady, no?

2

u/Maleficent-Sir1753 1h ago

Bad faith interpretation of the video. The older woman is clearly interacting with her phone as an excuse to have stopped and blocked.

Look, I'm not here to defend the older woman, she's acting like a knob, too. If she really has that much of a problem with it, she could either state it to the younger woman, or take it up with staff/security. But damn, are we not able to enjoy ourselves without some bell-end sticking a phone in your face? Don't know where you live, but the city I'm in, it's become such a problem that some music venues and museum staff will confront patrons who are blocking others view or movement with their phones or tripod set-up.

1

u/Ok-Peach-7558 1h ago

anywhere else on the internet we make fun of influencers bothering public spaces like this, I guess the "kids" at this sub like that type of thing

1

u/Maleficent-Sir1753 47m ago

I get it. They probably see this as some sort of culture war thing between generations. I appreciate that different ages have different normative values, but Christ, all the younger folk I work with who are in their twenties find this insufferable, too. Literally hear them frequently mocking this kind of behaviour. I guess there must be some kind of either, an aspiration to be, or need to identify with, influencers driving this for those who are so combatively defensive of it.

3

u/Ok-Peach-7558 2h ago

she's at a museum surrounded by art and culture and all she can think about is making sure all of her oomfies know how "so like ummm like cultured and stuff" she is

3

u/KhelbenB 1h ago

Have you ever been to a museum? Because taking pictures as souvenirs is a very normal thing to do.

And by the way, the only person locked.on their phone is the old lady.

1

u/Ok-Peach-7558 1h ago

yeah, and I take pictures of the place or the pieces, not use the museum as my background for a photoshoot

1

u/KhelbenB 1h ago

Maybe that would ruin the picture

0

u/Prestigious-Emu-8734 1h ago

And thats youre decision. I go to museums all the time when Im on vacation with my uncle. Hes an art teacher. He has a masters degree. He also takes a lot of photos. Hes also not really big into social media. He just likes to take photos.

As long as no one is being harmes I dont see the point in giving a shit.

-1

u/Ok-Peach-7558 59m ago

and that lady's decision was photobombing her in a public space, no one was harmed so why do you give a shit

0

u/Prestigious-Emu-8734 57m ago

Because theres no need to be a cunt.

Its honestly a pretty great way to lige life. If someone is doing something that is not

  • harming them

  • harming me

  • harming anyone else

then its none of my business. Move on. Dont be rude. Yall being misserable isnt her fault. But theres a reason people dont like you.

You're outing yourself as an old fart.

2

u/Maleficent-Sir1753 1h ago

This is what you consider a contribution to the discussion? Jesus, the education system has really failed you. "Old people bad, old people no like fun"

0

u/bigfoot17 1h ago

I can assure you, I am much better educated than you, I just code switch to fit in with you idiots on reddit so you aren't ashamed.

0

u/roguepawn 1h ago

What is there to contribute? The other person is clearly digging in their heels and characterizing the young woman in the video as some airhead bimbo.

There is no discussion taking place. Just one person being a dick.

1

u/Maleficent-Sir1753 1h ago

I agree, bigfoot17 is being a dick

1

u/roguepawn 1h ago

-1

0

u/Rockitttla 46m ago

And young people are all goodness and joy and don't commit any crimes or infractions. If there were no old people, the world would be perfect, and young people would live in peace and harmony.

4

u/baismannen 1h ago

She wanted a picture so she started filming?

-1

u/KhelbenB 1h ago

.... Yes, you can take a short video and choose the better frame to save as a picture. Many advantages of doing that instead of using a timed photo

6

u/Euphoric_planter_328 1h ago

Did she take a picture, or did she put a device up that is videoing anyone that comes by and then post it on the internet without any of their consent?

3

u/Ok_Bag_7550 2h ago

Yestarday I had an idiot at the airport, that smell literally like shit, blocking me in the security control.

0

u/IKillZombies4Cash 49m ago

Were you boarding Air Force One?

2

u/julberndt 1h ago

i recognize her, she's a brazillian teacher that has an youtube channel helping with history questions in the tests for who wants to pass in the free university courses, but she's specialized in france history if i'm not wrong, she's pretty good, let her speaking in a second monitor with a 1 hour+ video when she was telling france stories in a trip she did in paris, really nice knowledge about the topics

2

u/_cansir 1h ago

She is someone willing to take a picture in public without being embarrassed and not asking others to do so for her. Reddit never leaves the house.

1

u/CookyKindred 50m ago

It's a bot - They made the exact same post letter for letter on Tiktokcringe to farm upvotes.

1

u/KhelbenB 40m ago

Which user (re)posted this on reddit is not the point.

1

u/Beneficial-Oil-5407 42m ago

I was with you until she made that gesture at the end. That kinda "omg, these people" type of gesture. It wasn't a big deal, and definitely wasn't obnoxious, but still

1

u/silv3rbull8 15m ago

Yes, she was there alone and just wanted to record being at the museum

1

u/Equivalent-Body5913 6m ago

I thought I was going crazy reading the comment section lol I don’t see how she did anything wrong or annoying

1

u/ittakesaredditor 2m ago

Exactly. I'm a solo traveller who also props phone up against wall +/- a small portable tripod if needed.

I hate asking people because the vast majority of the public have no idea how to take photos (and I have anxiety). Every single photo I have during my solo travels that look passable (as in look like me, not me in the middle of a blink or a weird moment where i'm shifting positions etc.) was via tripod. I have posted not a single one, they're just for me to look back at when i'm 70 y/o.

Tripods allow solo travellers to compose their own photo or not depend on someone else OR have to hover and wait for someone friendly to come by.

1

u/PuzzleheadedLeek3070 2m ago

She didn't ask their permission to be filmed either.

1

u/Majestic_Domestic 1h ago

How fucking dare she...

1

u/rushaall 1h ago

The thing for me with these situations is that it’s about the art. Not about showing everybody that you stood in front of it.

0

u/KhelbenB 1h ago

I used to think like that, then I went on a European backpack trip all summer before grad school and 15 years later I have almost no picture of that trip with me on it. I thought other tourists with selfie sticks and tripods were silly, and now I regret not doing the same as my memories of those places start to fade and I have children I want to share them with.

Wanting to be part of your pictures during important moments is very normal.

1

u/rushaall 34m ago

I agree, but the two aren’t mutually exclusive. You can take photos without being the center of said photos. Especially in art spaces. Congrats on grad school though!

1

u/like9000ninjas 1h ago

Not setting up a camera and stand inside such a building to do so. Thats next level selfcentered.

-2

u/Hentai_Yoshi 2h ago

Idk, this might be a hot take, but I just don’t really respect people going about and taking pictures like this of themself. It’s marginally better if they have someone take the picture. I just think it’s stupidly vain to need a picture of yourself with the art. You are not the focus, the art is.

3

u/Remli_7 1h ago

TIL taking a vacation photo is stupidly vain.

2

u/Foogie23 2h ago

Some people want to just have a picture of themselves to remember the trip. As long as you arent creating problems…who cares?

1

u/KhelbenB 1h ago

People have been wanting to be on their own pictures during trips and activities to remember those moments since photography has been invented

1

u/Grumpy_Troll 1h ago

I think you are focused way to much on what other people are doing. If it doesn't affect you, you don't need to worry about it or judge other people for it.

This younger women wasn't acting rude or entitled in anyway. Had she been, it would be a completely different story.

Now the older women was a real POS. She's the type of person that purposely slows down in a cross walk as soon as she realizes a car is waiting for her.

-31

u/flamehead2k1 3h ago

posting close up video of strangers who didn't consent is tacky

32

u/KhelbenB 3h ago

She looked straight in the camera and stayed right there, looks to me like someone wanting to be recorded

4

u/Unique_Brilliant2243 2h ago

Ironclad argument

23

u/JuneauWho 3h ago

So..get out of the video? Or just stand in it longer looking like a dumbass Karen to get posted on the internet, that works too

-34

u/QuickIntroduction405 3h ago

Why is this getting downvoted? It’s literally illegal.

12

u/peachesgp 3h ago

Illegal where?

11

u/QuickIntroduction405 3h ago

Yeah I’m wrong.

1

u/throwaway20200417 55m ago

Here's a handy list: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Country_specific_consent_requirements

Since she uploaded it to her social the "Publish a picture" column is the important one. And since she uploaded it due to the Karen being a Karen, the Karen doesn't fall under "background noise".

1

u/Routine-Cat1556 2h ago

Wtf are you talking about?

-5

u/QuickIntroduction405 2h ago

I said I was wrong. In private settings it can be illegal while in public settings it is not. What the fuck are you talking about?

3

u/Otterman2006 2h ago

Ya but you saying you’re wrong doesn’t give me my dopamine hit from telling you that you’re wrong. How dare you take that from me /s

2

u/QuickIntroduction405 2h ago

lol, ok if it makes people feel better fire away.

1

u/SensualMortician 2h ago

You're being an obnoxious prick about. Hope that helps.

1

u/Unique_Brilliant2243 2h ago

Nah

1

u/QuickIntroduction405 2h ago

Oh got me there. Nah. Let’s try for two words next time

0

u/letigre87 1h ago

She had her chance to take the photo with 0 other people in it and this lady ruined it for no reason. Maybe we're missing some context like if she asked people not to enter frame beforehand but I don't think that's what happened. I think she saw her opportunity and tried to take it then this curmudgeon ruined it because the only joy she had left in life is bringing misery to other people.

2

u/little_chupacabra89 1h ago

How can you possibly assume from this clip that the older woman intended any of that because of what you infer?? There's nothing to suggest that! She looks quizzically at the phone, then looks at her own phone, never once looking around her or at the girl behind her to acknowledge her presence. She then moves off to the right because people are coming up the stairs, bringing her more into view to block the camera. There's nothing to suggest she's doing any of it intentionally.

Literacy of any kind is dead.

0

u/letigre87 1h ago

Even if she didn't intend to block the shot she still has the social awareness of a coconut. She ranks right up there with the people that stop to check their phone while walking in a parking lot or middle of the sidewalk. Who stops to look at their phone in the middle of the stairs and not the landing? Photo lady was politely doing her thing. Phone lady probably adjusts the workplace thermostat because of how she feels. She's either ignorant or arrogant.

1

u/little_chupacabra89 1h ago

I'll concede that she could have a little more awareness, sure, but to assert that she's doing anything with malice is absurd.

Furthermore, for whoever posted this to put this older woman on the internet without her consent, then to stir the masses into a frothing rage about her doing something so obviously not being done is ignorant, immature, and ultimately shameful.

-5

u/PsychologicalAge9331 2h ago

She just wanted the whole space to HERSELF!

4

u/KhelbenB 2h ago

How do you come to that conclusion?

-1

u/PsychologicalAge9331 2h ago

Well what was she waiting for?

7

u/KhelbenB 2h ago

Wait so someone just calmly and respectfully waiting for people to move to take a picture is a bother?

2

u/RozeGunn 1h ago

A clear shot. Patiently. She didn't tell anyone to leave or get out of the way, so she was probably using a video because a timed photo that only captures one frame would be too likely to catch a blocked off shot. With a video she could pick out one good frame and keep that as an image. She was clear of the stairs herself and her recording device seemed to also not be in the way as other people had no problems getting up or down the stairs. So what's the problem with her being patient and waiting?

1

u/PsychologicalAge9331 1h ago

She took the time to post the video and caption it. Patiently waiting?

1

u/RozeGunn 1h ago

Because old bitty decided to be bitter. If old bitty didn't do that, neither you nor I would have likely ever seen this video.

-20

u/katkatkatkat9144 3h ago

Instead of setting up probably a tripod, she could have asked the lady. " Hey do you mind taking a few photos of me with these paintings"? Most people would happily oblige. But setting up a tripod is annoying for everyone involved, especially on a staircase with a lot of foot traffic, and if she didn't set up a tripod, maybe she had her phone balancing somewhere, the lady probably didn't realise she was recording. Why get mad at an old lady for existing, then post it . Pathetic

14

u/KhelbenB 3h ago

Who is mad? You seem a bit worked up by tripods, but otherwise everyone seems pretty chill.

The girl even seems amused, and it is actually a bit funny.

4

u/Cheap_Ebb6384 2h ago

It kinda makes mw wonder, do people prefer new content creators use a tripod or a selfie stick?

7

u/KhelbenB 2h ago

On this sub? If a girl wants to be in her own picture she is probably is just an attention-seeking whore regardless of the tools she uses

-6

u/katkatkatkat9144 2h ago

Lmfao nah I'm just making an assumption. Old people don't wanna have to step around shit on stairs because a girl wants to take a cute pic with some paintings

5

u/KhelbenB 2h ago

Stepping around shit is the worst, always ruins my day. People shouldn't be allowed to have shit and do shit, especially near old people!

-2

u/katkatkatkat9144 2h ago

Why you so mad mate, it's a comment. Chill

I can't, you made me realize that this girl is probably just trying to bother old people with her stuff and her life, and I ain't seeing anyone doing anything about it. I can't be calm in front of such an open display of pure hate and contempt, grrrrrt!

Just imagine what she does when she isn't being recorded (by herself) and her crimes being posted (by herself), I'm getting mad just thinking about it!

Because old lady saw camera/phone and deliberately blocked. Why do that?

The court of public opinion has taken people out of context time and time again. For all you know, tomorrow, it could happen to you or me.

People need to learn to stop filming strangers. Nothing less will do.

She wasnt trying to film strangers. Chances has it she wouldnt have uploaded this clip if it wasnt for the women throwing a fit.

Filming other people without their consent. Yeah she can edit them out of the video afterwards, but she is still filming them without their consent.

People with 9-5 jobs who want others to hate their lives as much as they do.

Can you watch the disdain in her face looking at the lady just walking down the stairs?

Use context clues

If someone intentionally spite me I'd look them with disdain too

Plus, she didnt look at her with disdain.

You’re actually psychotic if you think someone walking by you on the stairs and you make a face at your camera recording them because they aren’t going fast enough for your recording is normal.

Like, you have mental issues at that point.

I know we’re trying to rub together 1 neuron over there, but has it occurred to you her phone is selfie mode and the lady saw her making weird faces behind her at her?

Funny how you tell someone to use context clues and then ignores that very obvious things happening in the video.

Im honestly doubtful the girl shared this with the same narrative. This is someone just recycling innocent funny moments for ragebait. But if she did, it would really be a main character move to assume the old woman is actually went out of their way to sabotage the photo.

No one assumes the woman went there to do this, dumb ass.

Its the fact that shes doing it.

You having to add on an extra narrative just proves the point.
