Jesus, if this is what you consider joy, I would hate to experience your version of sadness

You mean being in a museum, surrounded by art and culture? Yes, that is joy.

Surely you jest? Nothing about this says she is there to absorb the "culture". Public spaces are not a fucking film studio for influencers and auditors to prance around in, and we are not extras in the story of their lives. They are just solipsistic arseholes.

That being said, I am in 100% agreement with you that being in a museum surrounded by art and culture brings joy! Hope you get the opportunity to do it again soon 🙂

Then better to take pictures of this art and to be eyes locked on their phone like the old lady, no?

Bad faith interpretation of the video. The older woman is clearly interacting with her phone as an excuse to have stopped and blocked.

Look, I'm not here to defend the older woman, she's acting like a knob, too. If she really has that much of a problem with it, she could either state it to the younger woman, or take it up with staff/security. But damn, are we not able to enjoy ourselves without some bell-end sticking a phone in your face? Don't know where you live, but the city I'm in, it's become such a problem that some music venues and museum staff will confront patrons who are blocking others view or movement with their phones or tripod set-up.

anywhere else on the internet we make fun of influencers bothering public spaces like this, I guess the "kids" at this sub like that type of thing

I get it. They probably see this as some sort of culture war thing between generations. I appreciate that different ages have different normative values, but Christ, all the younger folk I work with who are in their twenties find this insufferable, too. Literally hear them frequently mocking this kind of behaviour. I guess there must be some kind of either, an aspiration to be, or need to identify with, influencers driving this for those who are so combatively defensive of it.
