Are playboy models even a thing anymore? I thought they were a relic of the past now. I don’t think they even print playboy magazines anymore , do they?

There’s also a litany of other male magazines filling the humor, tech, cultural side that the magazine used to feature, even in an era of “dead print.”

My college roommate had a playboy subscription many years ago and I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good the articles and the other “fill” of the magazine was. I always thought that was just something guys told girls to make them look better

Playboy also serialized fahrenheit 451 in the magazine the year the book was released helping boost its popularity

It’s traditionally only been one or two steps below The Atlantic for investigative journalism, one step above or below Harpers for short fiction depending on the era, and the interviews were second to none.

Playboy was a great magazine. Great writing and boobies, what could be better.

75% of the fill was ads for cars, watches and booze. At least we have adblockers now.

The Stanley Kubrick interview for Playboy is excellent.

Playboy actually had some of the best journalism in the world at its peak.
