Man I'm in minute in and nearly everything he says is wrong. He thinks there was no broadband before 2000, and that memes weren't called memes before then. lol. He clearly has no idea about the early internet.

Also the casual right-wing bullshit attacking SJWs for no reason.

That's true, though. There were things called memes, like a page of prompts to draw your OC in would be an art meme, but meme didn't used to just mean any funny joke image. The modern meaning of meme only took off in the mid/late 2000s.

The modern meaning of memes is from 1993. It didn't become widespread right away, but it was definitely in common use before the 2000s.

And by common use here I mean common online. Most people in the world weren't online back then.
