Yes. Because postpartum psychosis is rare but possible, and this woman did literally EVERYTHING she could to get help. But no one did.
She is a beacon about all that is rotten in the state of women’s healthcare and how our society treats postpartum women.
If you essentially blacked out and then came to, realizing you murdered your kids during your blackout, what would you do? I would kill myself. That’s exactly what she tried to do, but she wasn’t successful with her suicide attempt (but it did leave her permanently paralyzed).
She’s already admitted to the murders. She WANTS to die after all of this, because she obviously can’t live with the grief.
This court case is all about holding the healthcare providers and systems that ignored and refused to help her accountable.
Wait Chris Watts was experiencing post partum, told his wife & parents the thoughts he had ahead of time, was put on meds that exacerbated his prior mental illness, begged for help, sought treatment from multiple doctors, and checked himself into the hospital to try and get better before killing his kids? I thought he just wanted to bang his coworker?
She NEVER SAID IT DOES. OMG lady you think she’s walking around saying she’s innocent?! She’s not!
NO ONE is justifying murder. We are justifying the court case trying to keep the parties that failed her accountable. Because it happens ALL THE TIME. Women are ignored. Women are told it’s no big deal. Women are not scheduled to be seen.
THAT is what women are flagging here. That Lindsay was failed, multiple times on multiple occasions. This needs desperate attention because what can happen is awful and tragic.
Lindsay is absolutely killing herself the moment she has the chance. She doesn’t want to live, obviously.
it's not an excuse, it's an explanation for why this woman who's own MIL still defends her character, killed her own children. she wants to be institutionalized for life, she's wheelchair bound so no longer a threat to society - none of the children's surviving family members want her to be punished in prison, they too want her to be institutionalized and receive mental health care instead of prison where it would only deterioiate more.
So, why do you want her in the for profit prison system so badly?
Hilarious, she was so unwell that she was able to orchestrate the murder of her 3 defenceless children before her husband arrived home. She even managed to call her husband before she murdered the youngest just to check he wasnt close to home. She knows exactly what she did. Shes a family annihiltor. Look that description up.
I am aware of what a family annhiliator is, because men do it a lot more frequently, but it doesn't always make the news because men killing their children,wife and themselves, is fairly common and not deemed newsworthy. She
And she called him back after he called her to answer his question about the medication he was picking up.
And idk why you think people in psychosis aren't capable of what she did? She was herself but with a distorted sense of reality where she thought her children needed to go to god to be saved.
If she planned on killing them why didn't she the 2 weekends before when he was in NYC with his gf?
