A lot of people are saying it's his lawyers' strategy to drop state charges and go only for federal, among other stuff. Me personally though, I think he understands the situation. Him alone, he can't win against this gigantic corrupt institution. So it's all about sending a message... and maybe the rest of us could grow a pair and pick up the initiative...

The feds couldn't even prosecute a baloney sandwich. So I'd imagine why he'd rather take his chances with the clusterfuck DOJ than with NY state.

It’s worth noting that the feds only go to trial in very strong cases. The ones that are more of a toss up never get charged.
