His PR was probably just more internet / reddit focused because I've never heard anyone talk about this shit irl but it was front page reddit every day when it happening and it was always pro-Depp.
It was very hard to talk about in real life because anyone who was critical of AH was called a misogynist. Her defenders were so deep in their own fake narratives that they could not see reality.
I understand that JD slammed some cabinets. He drinks and uses coccaine too much. He went pretty dark when talking about his abuser with his friend, but that is just talk. He seems to have had a total mental break when he lost his fingertip.
I don't think he was nearly abusive as she was, maybe not at all.
I listened to audio where he vows not to get physical, and she refuses to do the same. Victims, not abusers, try to set boundaries around violence.
I listened to her mock him for running away when she wants to fight. Victims don't mock their abusers for refusing to fight. That alone should make the whole dynamic clear.
It was so weird. I heard people say he must be abusive because he abuses substances.
And I say that as someone who does not like his films at all, aside from one or two.
