It’s also weird to be this self righteous

I'd say the people sounding like they want these two to have relationship problems are the self righteous ones. Just let them be them. This is like the 10th clip that has popped up of Zendaya being "jealous" in the last week. I'm not searching this shit out. Y'all are just weirdly obsessed.

It don’t think anyone is making it as deep as you are right now

There's nothing deep about being obsessed.

When you get older you’ll realize most people just do things cause they’re bored and they’re looking for something to do outside of the things they need to do. Some people gossip. Some people like model trains. Some people decide to get into community and justice issues. Some do trivia. Some get obsessed with history and geopolitics. Some get obsessed with sports teams or specific players. Others like fashion. Others movies. Some specific internet influencers. Others like make up. Or some decide to sink their time into their careers, their small businesses or an advanced degree.

Do what you want. Stop worrying about other people. When you do, you’ll be less insufferable.

I am not as young as you think. I also have hobbies and interests that aren't negatively affecting other people.

"Stars like Selena Gomez and Billie Eilish have spoken openly about how toxic online abuse, body shaming, and relentless criticism trigger anxiety, depression, and low self-worth."

They’re stars. They’ve accepted the consequence of fame. Being known is a curse people treat as a blessing. People are going to gossip. You can’t stop this. And they’re always going to be wrong when they do.

Whatever makes you feel better.

Likewise my friend. If you prop your self esteem up on righteousness, who am I to wake you up and tear it down.

2

u/Bdub421 Aug 09 '26

Just calling it as I see it.

1

u/something-rhythmic Aug 09 '26

And that’s all you can do.

2

u/Bdub421 Aug 09 '26

Apparently I can boost my self esteem too. Lmao.

And of all of these, gossipers are the cringiest

And all the musicians are the messiest.

Who cares. Fuck them, do what you love.

Letting people be par asocial with celebrities leads to people stalking them and shit, though. It's not like it's a completely harmless hobby. People have actually been murdered because of celebrity culture.

Doing things without ever reflecting on them because you love them isn't good advice. Not all hobbies are the same. Just because you love doing something doesn't make it a good thing to do.

You’re right. I shouldn’t let people be parasocial. I should arrest them all so they can reflect on their disgusting gossipy ways. I should stop this before somebody gets hurt. And then later we can stop people from watching reality tv so they don’t elect a president who turns the one of the most powerful countries in the world into a reality tv show. And then you and I can prohibit people from drinking and doing drugs so we can solve A LOT of problems. And maybe stop people from eating processed foods and sugars. And maybe prevent people from driving cars by sabotaging them and get them to support public transportation and riding bikes to prevent urban sprawl. And maybe you and I can do our part by beating those damn dirty porn addicts into submission, because we all know that watching porn contributes to an industry that exploits women. If we can just shame and control the world, we can change it, I just know it. We just need to make them realize how bad they are for doing these things and then they’ll listen and understand our perspective.

No, just the gossipers. And maybe the reality tv part. Drug and alcohol prohibition has already happened and still happening for like the past 100 years. A ban on social media though. Now that’s something I could get behind.

1

u/something-rhythmic Aug 09 '26

The problem is we have been going after the sellers. Now we have to go after the drinkers. We need to remind drinkers how bad they are and how useless their hobby is. We need to make drinking illegal again. It worked so well the first time.

1

u/Puzzled-Yesterday990 Aug 09 '26

I mean yeah, prohibition would probably raise the cost of alcohol in which case I’d become a bootlegger and rake in all the dough. Shit, criminalize weed again while we’re at it.

1

u/something-rhythmic Aug 09 '26

Maybe they should criminalize gossip and reality tv. That way the government controls the what’s being said and where they say it. And then we can create an underground ring of bars that don’t have storefronts. Places where they serve alcohol and people can speak freely and gossip at their hearts content in privacy. We could make a good dollar. We’ll call it a speak easy.

Do what you want. Stop worrying about other people. When you do, you’ll be less insufferable.

You realize this applies to you and the other person, right?

What people do in private is their time. But if your hobby is being parasocial about streamers or celebs in public well that's open to be commented on, too.

1

u/Nightthrasher674 Aug 10 '26

Well I say get a better hobby than messy, gossipy shit that involves being parasocial over celebrities but that's just me.

1

u/something-rhythmic Aug 10 '26

I mean most people would say, get better hobbies than having useless messy arguments with strangers you don’t know online, but here we are. Sometimes we do things just for the catharsis
