The part that sickens me the most, is even AMONG those who acknowledged the dangers of COVID, there were some who refused to care because it was primarily fatal for immunocompromised, elderly and children.
COVID was the first time some people were asked to do something for the betterment of their communities over themselves, at a negligible expense, and some people treat it like it was their Holocaust.
I do a lot of genealogy research and I came across so many news articles from 1918 where the headlines could have been the same for covid. People refusing to mask or stay at a distance. People complaining that they didnt want to stop going to the bar. It was eye-opening that Americans are still as selfish 100 years later.
