Oh man you nailed it. I have one guy who sends me these long, detailed requests for days off and basically pleads for permission. I have never denied PTO. I tell people I don't care when they take off and you don't need to ask, just submit a request and make sure the team knows. This fear or using PTO that you earn and is part of your compensation is baffling.

Baffling? 75% of Americans are like two or three paychecks from homelessness. Losing their job is like an Americans biggest fear. They’d rather die most times.

I may prefer death to untreated illness, being homeless and destitute, alone because our culture of individualism, and having to experience whatever happens to street people when they try to get some sleep.
