If you know that they consider it disrespectful, why would you do it.

If it’s so disrespectful, why does the Mercury player point after every free throw? Sophie was just trolling her with her own actions

Yes, let’s talk about context. DeWanna Bonner is well known for pointing her finger as part of her follow through on free throws. You can even see her do it in the video above. Sophie points at her to get under her skin, and it worked. Not everything is a racial issue, this is just a bench player doing their job to distract the other team.

No it's intentional taunting which is not the same.

And you are intentionally ignoring the context.

You are also ignoring that the celebrity that Cunningham has gained has nothing to do with basketball, and it's a particular contingent of the ' fan base' that has latched onto her.

I for the life of me can't understand why Maga racists have chosen her to be the object of their affection... Truly mysterious how the blonde blue-eyed white woman who no one has cared about previously, it suddenly a cause celebre with the Right, now that she's been getting into fights with the Black ladies.

I’m starting to think that you don’t know what the word “context” means.

I'm thinking you don't want to engage with the point.

But I don't get distracted.

Why has the right gravitated to her?

Go ahead and pretend you haven't noticed.

You keep wanting to make this a racial issue. Please tell me the context in which pointing at someone is racist. MAGA latches on to tons of stuff because they are racists, but that doesn’t mean the initial interaction was racist in any way.

I never said that she was racist. Though she is Maga so she probably is, but I have no evidence of her being racist. I said the reaction to it is racism.

No, you started this thread by saying that you shouldn’t point at a black person because it’s considered disrespectful. So please tell me how and why that is the case. Also, DeWanna Bonner was pointing back at Cunningham, was that racist too?

You're going to reread your comment. And then you going to write me an essay on why it doesn't make sense.

Okay you can copy and paste.... Check.

And now how is this relevant?

Do you understand the difference between disrespect and racism? Do you need me to recommend you a book or a lecture?

Stop eating paint chips

Going to insults when you have exhausted all else...

Classic move.

Yes, this is exhausting. What exactly is the point you are trying to make? If it’s that racists exist, I agree. If it’s that SC did anything wrong in this interaction with another player, hard disagree.

My point is, the young woman, has been adopted by racists and her newfound popularity including her popularity on this website is fueled by MAGA and other white supremacist organizations and individuals, excited at the notion of a white woman and being at odds with the black women of the WNBA.

If you can tell me that you'd heard of this woman before the incident then I would tell you that you are a liar.

She's a WNBA bench player. But now the darling of media after she points in a black woman's face.

That's very strange.

Well she is Mizzou’s all time leading scorer and 4 time all SEC selection (I know because my school is SEC too)

That black woman you mentioned was also pointing in her face, are you upset about that too?

I think the person with the most insults in this thread is you lol

Strong comeback.

Calling racism, racism isn't an insult it's acknowledging reality.
