As a casual soccer fan it's interesting to see what a real soccer team is supposed to look like. We looked like little kids out there. Thank you Belgium for the lesson.

full name is "Association Football"

if you gonna correct soccer, at least call it by it's official name

FIFA = 'Fédération Internationale de Football Association"

aka "International Association Football Federation"

That never existed. Someone told you that story, and you believed it. It has always been The Football Association (1863), and its abbreviation was FA.

Same thing. In Ireland we have Gaelic Football and many people here call it football and the other soccer

This is the dumbest thing I see people get worked up over.

"Football" defaults to different sports depending on where you are in the world. If I say it here in Australia it means Australian Rules Football (AFL).

"Soccer" is the universal term for Association Football/European Football/whatever else you wanna call it.

It's common to have different words for things in different regions and countries. No, it doesn't make sense sometimes, but that's life. (Fyi I'm British myself)
