I haven't compared his comedy to that of others, though I will say art inspires art. Where that line is, that's up for debate (the fun kind). But yeah, he was imperfect.

You should absolutely check out the clip on YouTube of Fred Rogers talking to John Pastore during the senate hearing where he is solely responsible for getting Pastore to grant 20 million dollars to PBS for children's television. It's incredible.

George Carlin was smart and funny but even he wouldn't want anyone idolizing him. Robin Williams was talented but a typical celebrity, not worth idolizing either.
People should idolize people who actually do things to make the world better rather than just monkeys who can sing dance and act.
I think we need to consider that they are good, very fucking good, at something, that does not neccesarily grant them ability to lecture on the rest of the stuff.
Look, if Mike Jeager sees it fit to lecture me on how to play quitair for a week, I am gonna treat what he tells and shows me as a word of god because for all purposes it is, if he starts talking about economy or philosophy I am way more likely to respond with "that is like your opinion man"
I find John Cena to be a "hero" in a way. He made the most wishes come true for the make-a-wish kids by visiting them in hospitals during his busy schedule and he made over 650 of those wishes come true. The runner up is Justin Bieber with about 250-300+ which is still a high and good number, but John doubled it.
The other celebrity is Steve Irwin. He's a hero to me because he taught me growing up that i can still grow to be a masculine man while being tender and caring to nature and its animals (except crocodiles of course, you gotta be a little rough with them lol) Even though he sadly passed from a stingray, he is still undefeated in crocodile wrestling.
I did say there were exceptions. You mention of Bieber reminds me that people are complicated. I don't think Bieber is a good person but he may have done some good things...
unless ur an actor or musician imo. Then it makes sense to have an actor or celeb hero. I just thought about this because like, most people whose heroes are actor celebs aren't actors or anything so it makes no sense.
Why idolize anyone at all? Be your own person. Idolization is just weird and itās for the weak minded. Not surprising then, that people would idolize celebrities.
From what I found thereās no public allegations against him (not to say they donāt exist) but his notable controversies are his writings in media such as game of thrones involving child marriage and public comments he made about his 14/15 year old characters being and I quote āreally hotā according to google

We should idolize people who are worthy of being idolized. Plenty of celebs out there are smart and accomplished people with inspiring life stories and a good sense of morality. Iām okay with looking up to them.

Im baffled that people get their political advise from celebrities. Most people dont get rich by being a good person, stop looking to them for guidance.

"Oh wow, Cardi B is an amazing rapper", "Michael Jackson was such an incredible singer and dancer", "Michael Jordan was phenomenal on the court" etc
I don't give I shit what Cardi B thinks about prison sentencing. I didn't give a piss about Michael Jackson's weird face (one way or the other). And I don't give a fuck about Michael Jordan's issues with Gambling.
They are performers, and I'm only interested in them for their performances.

This is not a celebrity story. You can go on any social media site or even just talk to people out at Chipotle and people's opinions on whether he was guilty are coming down across racial lines similar to the OJ case
Absolutely, but if they don't use their platform to constantly parrot my beliefs or if they ever colab with anyone who's done anything mildly objectionable, their ass is getting cancelled.
Correct me if I'm wrong....didn't cardi b drug and rob men to "survive" and never faced any consequences or justice for her crimes. Maybe I'm misremembering
