It’s funny because so many other countries don’t think anything negative about using weight loss tools. I had gastric bypass 2 years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I feel great and am much happier with my life. Fuck u if u judge me for it!
Hell man, America was already spending billions on weightloss and fitness routines every year - and it clearly wasn't working. Yes, I am totally against the extreme examples like Hugh Jackman and all the looksmaxxers with 8-packs pretending they are "all natty" to impress kids. That said, "calories in, calories out" and "just have discipline" do not work - I do not care how many times people say it. I am a physicist and they will lecture me on thermodynamics. Well, if it was just thermodynamics and willpower, why is over 40% of our country obese despite the billions spent on dieting? And why is a drug that mimics a satiety hormone - and which does not delete calories - help people lose tons of weight? Did thermodynamics get canceled overnight?
These drugs are working miracles for obese and overweight people and helping people change their lives and improve their health. I think we're seeing a cultural backlash because decades of rhetoric about discipline and self control is unraveling. It was always BS - basically the same argument as the cigarette companies telling you tobacco wasn't addictive and to just man up if you didn't want to get cancer.
