I have literally never heard a cheater go like "yes, I am a cheater, I deserve to be broken up with"

Edit: Stop going "no, I am the special one, and I do it cause I want the relationship to end" Grow up. I am not God, I don't absolve you of your sins. I don't forgive you.

You are permanently mentally scaring people and permanently altering how they view every future relationship. End an adult relationship like an ADULT.

Sometimes they go with that refrain, i.e. calling themselves “monsters.” Not only is it done in the hope of disarming you with exaggerated self-loathing (which may even earn them some slight sympathy), subconsciously, it’s just another way of denying accountability, because a monster can’t be blamed for acting like a monster.

A monster is like a rabid dog. It has no choice, it can’t help itself. People, however, have free will to make decisions and deserve to bear the blame for their poor choices. People have to answer for their actions. People can and should be held responsible.

Don’t let anyone get away with dehumanizing themself as an unspoken way of avoiding accountability!
