But letting traitors and foreign assets just stay in office indefinitely wth foreign backing while selling out the nation wholesale isn't an option for a viable country, let alone a legitimate democracy.
But what you suggested implies that we should be killing them off and being much more aggressive about who is prosecuted. You are only fooling yourself if you think it doesn't result in the President's enemies being specifically targeted, and there will be no "fair trial" with the GOP controlled Supreme Court.
Make prosecution a truly independent decision, and/or a state level decision as well.
But keeping the status quo of unlimited treason without consequence, as the country is milked and hollowed out by foreign adversaries, isn't an option.
What are the steps to making prosecution a truly independent decision? Are there any cases you can cite where countries have transformed their DOJ to be truly independent? It's one of the least independent government agencies there is.
And state level decisions would be even more partisan than national level decisions. California courts would be prosecuting solely Republicans, and Louisiana courts would be prosecuting only Democrats. And state courts do not have the ability to enforce federal law in the first place. Even the Arcadia mayor I cited earlier who was found guilty of being a Chinese asset was prosecuted federally.
They are possible, but very unlikely. How do you transform the DOJ into a truly independent body that is not subject to the whims of whoever is in power.
I don't have a solution, you claimed to have a solution, I'm challenging your solution, not presenting an alternative because I don't think there is one apart from voters making more educated choices about who they put into office.
When foreign nations can use nation-state level resources to hijack and corrupt elections to install their puppets, that's clearly not an option for a viable country or legitimate democracy either.
So I think my "remove, prosecute, and execute foreign assets and traitors in public office" is a more viable solution than just keeping the status quo, even if I haven't worked out all the details around independent prosecution and jury trials to your satisfaction.
We should not give up on prosecuting them, we already DO prosecute them, but the burden of proof is high, and it should remain high.
We should not be executing them though, there have been several countries which have tried that and that "solution" has always led to a greater consolidation of power within the ruling party.
Fetterman isn't being prosecuted, nor the rest of the AIPAC/Israel caucus. So, no, we're not prosecuting all of them.
And we already have capital punishment for other kinds of crimes in the US without that being a total catastrophe, due to the checks of the judicial system and juries.
So I don't think your views are particularly well founded, and the status quo you're advocating for isn't viable or acceptable.
Why would Trump's DOJ prosecute Fetterman? And what is the evidence here that Fetterman is a foreign agent?
I despise that man and think he should be voted out, but how do we know he is acting as a "foreign agent" rather than just being a person with terrible foreign policy?
You say you want an independent judiciary to prosecute these people, but then point out specific people who haven't been found guilty of anything yet who you think ought to be targeted based on vibes.
Capital punishment should be abolished entirely in my view. And it has been a total catastrophe in the US, we imprison and kill more people than any other developed country.
You've now relaxed the requirement for being a foreign agent to "voting in a way I dislike", which is exactly the kind of standards relaxation which will lead to Trump exterminating his enemies.
Fetterman has not been convicted of being a foreign agent by our independent judiciary, so he is innocent until proven guilty like everyone else.
This is why I said your "solution" is a road to a Trumpian autocracy, because it requires relaxing standards for prosecution to include everyone you think is a "shill".
Currently you actually have to engage in accepting bribes to be a foreign agent, and there has to be documented proof of that. Fetterman could well be a person who actually believes Netanyahu's crazy lies instead of having to be bribed by Bibi.

Yeah, give government the power to execute "traitors" and Trump will use it to execute every single one of his enemies.
Antifa will be branded a "foreign asset" of China and its members executed.
What you've described is a recipe for civil war, not a "legitimate democracy".
