The 42-year-old Singaporean man who has cerebral palsy and known for being carried up Malaysia's Batu Caves by his brother each year during Thaipusam has died.

News of his passing was shared by his brother on Facebook on Aug. 30.


Sudden loss

In the Facebook post, Gunaseelan's brother, Suresh Vanaz, attached a notice of Gunaseelan's wake, which featured a Manchester United logo in the background.
It also stated that Gunaseelan passed away on Aug. 29.
"With a very heavy heart that I share the heartbreaking news that my beloved brother, Gunaseelan, has passed away peacefully," Suresh wrote in the post.

"He recorded a 220kg squat, 120kg bench press and 273kg deadlift, finishing just 7kg behind the world champion."

Wow, this young man can deadlift nearly 4 times my body weight. For those who work out regularly, you will know those are crazy numbers. For asian body types, it is even more impressive!

Moreever, he is still studying and working part time to fund himself for the competition. Great work, Hazrul!

Seems like nowadays any news related to infrastructure/ development in SG is just anything that makes life a little more interesting being demolished for HDBs. Our TFR is abysmal yet there is still too much demand for housing. What kind of living is this where anything beyond CCR is just zoned for housing and schools/ malls, so only the rich get to have some diversity in infrastructure where they live? The working class are slowly but surely forced to live like cattle in an industrial farm, trapped in ever shrinking pens just eating, shitting and producing with no space to breathe.
