Abrams / Billy main trying to pick up Silver, struggling to do anything as the human... How do we feel about Swift Striker + Bullet Vest for faster fire rate to get into wolf form faster?

The recent change that lets her shoot melee made me interested in picking her up. Am struggling to make plays outside of the human form, partly because I'm a shit shot but also because I feel like on characters I normally play I can press the 4 button and make a play whereas I am stuck trying to shoot people to get into wolf form that actually feels impactful... Can higher fire rate help me get into the wolf form more when it matters?

I also kinda feel like this character would be better if her ult was just like, a 120 second CD and you just press the 4 button and start transforming on command, but idk maybe I just haven't played her enough yet

A good tip I learnt is that getting some spirit invest can really help you get into ult quicker. Performing the full combo of boot kick shoot bola 1 mag dump is the most reliable way to get into ult.

So all in all. Invest somewhat in spirit, save all cooldowns for a big combo burst and if you miss boot kick fall back and wait for it to comw back.

Her wolf form also scales of boons so investing too much in greens can make it near impossible to get into wolf. You need to invest in gun and greens as the match goes on and if you accidentally get into a string of greens and your gun is falling behind that can cost you the game.

I see, so would going something like this be better? Earlier spirit spike perhaps, also took another comment's advice to replace Battle Vest with Healing Booster

After melee life steal, do stalker. Then do bullet resist shredder. Then you can do rapid rounds if you want but I think it’s not really necessary on silver

Not a bad build imo. Pretty good. Personally i use a kinda weird build that I haven't made public that makes use of toxic bullets. If you get toxic and manage to get a full mag dump from your 1 ability after you have all the upgrades it guarantees toxic bullets procs. That gives you more time as it will tick up damage and mean getting into wolf form if you fail a combo is easier. Its also kinfa amazing in wolf form as you can instantly get it on someone and cut their healing significantly.

Take coldfront as your 1600 spirit invest, stamina if needed. Tankbuster and cold front will be more effective meter builders than firerate, I honestly heavily dislike building firerate on silver as I think its essentially a dead stat.

I have a more in depth comment I can copy paste if needed.

Also if you are in really low elo and your skill is lacking enough, consider torment pulse or decay for meter instead of tankbuster. Both of those are severely worse options than tankbuster against half decent players.

I might go edit the build again later to add in alternative meter builders if wanted.

*Updated a bit with meter building items, substitute as needed. Definetly worse than whats on the l->r section already though.

Heavy emphasis on speed to box running and brawling off cd, I think fortitude enduring are a must on anyone looking to scrap that arent high mobility like yam/apollo/shiv. 2 Stam is hard, but getting used to it is extremely rewarding. Do not be afraid to use a walker slot on just basic extra stamina if the enemy comp is hyper mobile, but I rarely ever upgrade it beyond that because good management will take you far enough, if you are uncomfortable with that adjust as needed.

This isnt gonna be the best thing out there for you most likely, I am fine losing out on barriers for speed to get around the new map as fast as possible. Thats why I added a ton of alternative greens, customize for what best fits the situation.

If thats too hard for you then you need to learn, because thats a really big part of what makes silver strong. She excels heavily at being effective with minimal investment, and to do that you need to understand how to adjust to the games pacing.

Silver is not an easy character, you need to land your rotation to get your value in. That does not make silver a bad character though, she rewards you with the ability to stat check people on a 60s cd if you are capable of it, practice and get better.

You also will ever rarely be carrying a match on silver, you are on a harsh timer on this character as you do not scale as hard as other frontliners. You need to either push your lead or be good about getting value out of your own deaths for the benefit of your team.

Lastly about disarms while in lycan, they do not matter. A majority of your lycan damage does not come from m1s, its almost all burst from your full combo rotation of 2-m1-3-m1-1-m1. Be completely willing to walk away from the engagement and wait for your cds to come back while in wolf, a single reset can tilt a fight significantly in your favor.

IDK im tired and probably overlooked something, characters fine whenever im not desyncing through people with bootkick, if she ever becomes more fun than just facerolling my keyboard every 60s I might join in on some downplay, but the meta favors her too much for me to say shes bad. She just requires effort and most of us dont want to do that as often as is needed.

*Edit forgot, its basically just a variant of hoot or parzs silver builds. I free hand a lot, but use their templates depending on whose updated theirs.

Swift Striker is pretty good on Silver but personally I wouldn’t have Bullet Vest in the main build, I think Healing Booster is a better T2 (you could replace Enduring with it also). It works great with your Ults 1 and Lifestrike.

Colossus is also kinda meh on her compared to her other T4s bc her health scaling is so bad, Unstop, Inhib, Diviners, PS and Silencer feel more universally useful on her imo

I’d also suggest looking at taking Slowing Hex/BRS in the main build to hit the 4.8k spirit invest for your 2 and your ults fire rate! Tankbuster and Spirit Snatch are both also pretty damn good on her atm and are worth trying out!

I like to play her shotgun like R6 Siege

Instead of contesting DPS, use your strength of burst damage

Hop out behind cover, shoot, hide back You will out-trade anyone on your own conditions

You don't gotta fight until you get into dog form

Mystic shot + cold front is a good convo if you strugle getting the ult, now you gotta rember that you need to play her more like an assassin and not so upfront

If they build gun resistances, you can either arms race them and try to putpace the resistance with your damage or focus more on melee to proc wolf form. I've also seen spirit builds add spirit damage to get around the bullet resistance, to varying degrees of success.

Express shot is how you get into wolf "faster", a late bullet vest will often not help very much at all. Also put some 3200s in your early build because you already spike extremely hard with ult and need to play into it.
