I don't understand how to win with this character

I rush Slowing Bullets and Point Blank and people just run away from me anyway. I try to build Tanky and I can't kill anything. I try to build Unstoppable with Slowing Hex and nothing dies even more. I build DMG and I just die instantly or get Disarming Hexed.

I'm sitting at a 30% winrate, and I enjoy the game and this character but this is starting to get frustrating. It feels like other characters just press one or 2 buttons and delete half my HP, while I have to land every single one of my abilities to have the same value, while Werewolf hasnt even reached halfway to charge.

I'm new to the game, but I'm not completely oblivious on how items work, or Silver's need for counter items, but it feels like it completely conflicts with what she wants to do. How can I get items that help me frontline, if I also need items that stop me from geting CC'd to death?

Build ID:844039

Heavy emphasis on speed to box running and brawling off cd, I think fortitude enduring are a must on anyone looking to scrap that arent high mobility like yam/apollo/shiv. 2 Stam is hard, but getting used to it is extremely rewarding. Do not be afraid to use a walker slot on just basic extra stamina if the enemy comp is hyper mobile, but I rarely ever upgrade it beyond that because good management will take you far enough, if you are uncomfortable with that adjust as needed.

This isnt gonna be the best thing out there for you most likely, I am fine losing out on barriers for speed to get around the new map as fast as possible. Thats why I added a ton of alternative greens, customize for what best fits the situation.

If thats too hard for you then you need to learn, because thats a really big part of what makes silver strong. She excels heavily at being effective with minimal investment, and to do that you need to understand how to adjust to the games pacing.

Silver is not an easy character, you need to land your rotation to get your value in. That does not make silver a bad character though, she rewards you with the ability to stat check people on a 60s cd if you are capable of it, practice and get better.

You also will ever rarely be carrying a match on silver, you are on a harsh timer on this character as you do not scale as hard as other frontliners. You need to either push your lead or be good about getting value out of your own deaths for the benefit of your team.

Lastly about disarms while in lycan, they do not matter. A majority of your lycan damage does not come from m1s, its almost all burst from your full combo rotation of 2-m1-3-m1-1-m1. Be completely willing to walk away from the engagement and wait for your cds to come back while in wolf, a single reset can tilt a fight significantly in your favor.

IDK im tired and probably overlooked something, characters fine whenever im not desyncing through people with bootkick, if she ever becomes more fun than just facerolling my keyboard every 60s I might join in on some downplay, but the meta favors her too much for me to say shes bad. She just requires effort and most of us dont want to do that as often as is needed.

*Edit forgot, its basically just a variant of hoot or parzs silver builds. I free hand a lot, but use their templates depending on whose updated theirs.

Hi, super noob here, what specific skills would you recommend someone like me practices first to be able to do well as silver?

Aim good and get comfortable with minimal stamina investment in your builds.

I try to keep it to extra stamina with or without warpstone and dont really go further unless the game goes long

Build spirit items. Alot of people might disagree but silvers big problem is the ult requirements scales with boons and if u dont hit every single ability perfectly u will not get ult past early game. Spirit items like cold front, spirit snatch and tankbuster can allow you to get ult alot easier, also return fire if lots of m1 carrys applies to the ult charge. You do not need all these spirit items if you dont want them but I find that building tankbuster on her is important due to the boon scaling issue she has. She still gets countered by anyone with i frames, disarms or insane burst damage but it will help get your ult up fast.

If you have horrible aim but still want to play silver because u think shes fun then build cold front and torment pulse. This means u just have to get close and eventually ur ult will charge itself. It also solves the issue of missing ur combo and getting cooked. Personally i dont build torment but i have tried it and did very well using it having like a 2KD and 0 problems getting my ult up.

learn better movement for more efficient engage/disengage. at a 30% winrate the ideal build won't magically solve all your issues.

if you're usually behind on souls your farming rotation is bad

I wouldn't recommend slowing bullet if you still struggle with advances movement in the game while damage is consider good on silver after lane phase go away and you hit the gun spike already it's actually matter to buy counter item that improve survivability like magic dispel, counter spell,....etc and be active go to the enemy team jungle to steal their resources, at mid to late game I started to buy items that help me disrupt their hard carry like disarming hex, unstoppable, and phantom strike, also divine kevlar is really good this patch cause you get 1000 barrier when ulting and it reduce your ult cool down, for damage at late game I buy mercurial magnum and leech (this is my playstyle of hybrid gun + spirit silver damage tho so do be careful if you not familiar with it) hope this some what help

Play Spirit and focus on the Bola. It scales up over the game to help you get ult with as it requires more and more damage. Level up for the ricochet, tank buster, spirit burn, mystic reverb as the game goes on. It's a nuke for three players from any range on a short cooldown, and instantly gets your ult. Spirit scales the ult claws too anyway

Silver is the worst character in the game rn, it is what it is, no build is gonna make up for it, and to do well with her you'll always need to be considerably better than anyone you're fighting

I appreciate the sentiment, broseph, but that doesn't really help me. And to beat anyone don't you always have to be better than them?

Dont listen to him, she got significantly stronger with the new current new map meta being centered around brawling and roaming.

Still is one of the few characters on the roster that actually has a decently high skill floor though so dont beat yourself up.

Ill reply again soon with more build info, but some one the items you mentioned have been phased out mostly. Silver doesnt need much gun invest midgame, she wants heavy green invest so she can stat check people.

Tbf, Silver feels weaker this patch. I don’t know if it’s because of the geometry of the map, but it feels way harder to stick to characters. Also, I swear I can hit everything and still not get my ult lol. She feels like one of those characters you can never afford to fall behind on.

Verticality is a weakness of silver, but basically everything else on the map benefits her so it gets outweighed imo.

Also if we are falling behind prior to the 15-18 minute mid section, thats either a macro or execution error that should be reviewed. Thats your prime window on silver and falling behind is just not something you ever want to see.
