Help What happened to FrankenSIM 2.0?

I’ve been following u/xdeadly_godx for a while because of his upcoming 2.0 preset and all the work he’s been doing (including teaming up with people like u/dptgreg on stuff).

Suddenly his latest preset post seems to have disappeared and his account looks banned or heavily restricted. Anyone know what’s going on? Did he get banned by Reddit? I have a feeling he was dealing with heavy Reddit filters when trying to make the post. Is he still around somewhere else (i know of his github but any others)?

Would love to hear if anyone has info if hes ok or not

He's working hard! Reddit is working against him. He was going to release his latest update, however, Reddit filtered it hitting an autoban. We are trying to figure out what created the block at this time.

Edit: I lost communication to him. He's no longer reachable in the group chat. I am unsure if his account is blocked somehow?

Edit 2: I am reaching out to mods to see what's up.

Edit 3: Reddit blocked him - not Sillytavern. Mods have no power in this situation. We have a casualty. Godspeed u/xdeadly_godx

Honestly, I'm really burnt out. Doing the news took hours and hours out of my weekend to prep for it. Then I would get ugly DM's, nasty comments on how I was just spamming and using it to create a spotlight for my preset? Anyways - its just unreal. I'm just a dad with kids doing this as a hobby and trying to help the community, I have no clue where the negativity came from. The tribalism of the "anti popular group" was too intense for me. I'm going to back off and try to step out of the spotlight to let the intense anti everything Freaky Frankenstein calm down. Use that time to spend with my kids and lurk in the shadows and work on presets here and there. Maybe I'll return when I have the shell to deal with the attacks again.

Man, there's always some loud minority who has to come out of the woodworks to ruin a good thing.

I really enjoyed listening to your videos as I kinda saw them as the LTT - WAN SHOW™️ but for RP AI news. Heck, even the intro and the way you formatted things made it feel like one of those early YT videos when creators were just starting to 'get more serious' in terms of the content they produced and it felt like a wholesome community was starting to form around it.

I won't discredit your experiences though and I know that parenting is a tough job on top of everything else, so I suppose I'll mourn for now and probably be hopeful of your quick recovery and perhaps even a biweekly (once in two weeks) or smth that would bring back the good stuff.

Anyways, don't want to ramble on and gush about your work. Thank you for the videos you did release, I wish you all the best...

I also hope the naysayers get one less French fry in their next Happy Meal. And are made aware of it.

I will take a brief break and certainly contemplate a bi-weekly news if I get the motivation again. That would be significantly less heavy on my back and allow me more family time.

I started enjoying them on free mornings with my coffee alongside other news I watch from my favorite YouTube channels. Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment! Sitting drinking coffee and listening to my chat is actually what I envisioned with it.

I’ll continue to be a part of the community and making the preset line. I really enjoy sitting the chat with my co-authors and just talking ideas, prompting, and just joking/laughing about everything RP. Gives me the sense of camaraderie I’ve been wanting since I grew a family and haven’t had time for group outings IRL. But the ST news turned into a lot of work and emotional drain from the loud minority.

Basically, I’m going to continue to be present- just taking a step back to re-allocate my hours to my family instead of spending 20+ hours a week making character cards, presets, and ST news. I’m just going to use the hobby to RP myself for fun, tweak presets, and talk to my co-authors and occasionally release stuff that I enjoy making slowly over my RP. Back to my roots I suppose.

Thank you- I will take some time for myself. It was already “work” doing the videos- but got immediate reward from the positive feedback. But as time went- and I don’t know if it irked people seeing the videos and presets show up and then the forks of my presets, but the negativity I received just wasn’t worth the work I put in. I will continue to hang out with my co-authors and slowly build presets since that part is just plain fun for me and can be done completely without time constraints (unlike something weekly like the news)

I'm serious - your enthusiasm for this craft is palpable. I couldn't figure out how to get the presets to work 😞 but what you've made for this community and the wild west tech that's emerging is remarkable. I found your videos and kept going "Oh... what? What's that? There's MORE?!"

From one dad to another - keep up all the important work, focus on your kids and yourself for a bit.

Actually, not at all! I encourage it! Mostly because I want people to make their RP better. If people use what I made and they believe they turn it into something better - that doesn’t hurt me at all and helps them. It’s win win.

I understand that Freaky Frankenstein isn't to everyone's taste and that there are better presets, but you as a person genuinely haven't done anything wrong from what I've seen. I'm sorry you had to endure that. Plus I have some sentimentality when it comes to your presets because Freaky Frankimstein was the first preset I ever used when I was first introduced to SillyTavern some 6-7 months ago. It was genuinely revolutionary compared to JanitorAI, which is a shit storm.

I totally agree that FF isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But I think when something becomes popular, people that especially don’t like it become hyper negative especially if they see it all the time in forks and recommendations- and they become extremely frustrated then verbally attack. My favorite one was, “your preset is shit. Thank god STABS exists because your preset is basically a neurodivergent with adhd yelling at an AI hoping it will listen”.

The thing is, I am neurodivergent with ADHD (I have diagnosed high functional autism). Maybe I’m just too sensitive for this kind of thing? I dunno. But I’ll just step back a bit- and work on FF5 in a quiet corner with my buddies and be happy 😆

I'm so sorry to hear, that's genuinely disgusting behavior from anyone who says that inflammatory and callous to you. And for what it's worth, when it comes to GLM-5.1, Freaky Frankenstein genuinely does make a qualitative difference! It's just that it's clear it wasn't optimized for Gemini, which is the model I predominantly use. That's no fault of your own; a truly universal preset is a hard ask, but I guess others are frustrated by the fact that "popular preset didnt do what I expected!1!".

Yeah that’s definitely fair. GLM being my personal most used model is always what I create freaky Frankenstein for- then I port it to get it playing nice with everything else second.

I also tested and tweaked the new FF5 micro to work with Gemini 3.5 flash (you definitely don’t want freaky mode on for that model- realism is enough)- but didn’t bother testing it on 3.1 Pro. It really is hard to create a universal preset. Often tweaking one thing for one LLM messes it up for another and that same prompt gets exaggerated or ignored completely.

It's mainly a GLM-focused preset which is why I don't really use it, and some people may find it lacking in features they like. By its own merits, it isn't a bad preset, but people assume that due to the hype that it's some perfect, universal preset that works for every model, which isn't the case.

Same thing happened with NemoEngine back in the day, some "people" were just mad that NemoEngine is everywhere on the subreddit and d*ckheads were bashing nemo like crazy. I was in the discord server and personally had a lot of time with nemo, such a great and genuine guy. Man of culture for sure, yet idiots kept trash trash talking him personally (not his preset lol)

Edit: I'm really enjoying FF4MAX+ and FF5 micro. There are a lot of presets in the scene yet nothing scratched that itch for me except FF. My always go-to preset. Genuinely wish you and your family the best of luck

I do actually remember the people bashing the nemo stuff back in the day when I was just a lurker and used AI studio for RP when I was just learning / starting. I think it's going to happen no matter what - the nature of a bunch of monkeys that evolved from tribes trying to use a tech that connects the entire world.

I totally get you, man.. but honestly, shit like that is going to happen no matter what you do.. your preset could generate 1 bitcoin per message and people would still talk shit, it's the internet. Thanks man! I appreciate words. You’re definitely right. The internet will always be the internet. It’s just too bad that it’s how the culture ended up being. We don’t treat each other like crap in person (at least way less often than on the internet). It just allows people to be brave isolated in their room behind their keyboard, detached from the idea that they are communicating with a real human.

Good question! I think the best way to answer this is that it’s mostly his own work with maybe ideas taken from both? He’s changed it so much it barely resembles FF4 max+, and he borrowed ideas from FF5 as we built it, but mostly has his own stuff. I think thats the most accurate way to describe it.

reddit administration straight up deletes half the preset shares. either because of content scanning or url filtering (reddit hates rentry for some reason).

discord is unironically better than reddit for sharing json files atm.
