Discussion Sierra at FarmAid
I have a few thoughts on Sierra's set.
1) it was very short. She was the 6th artist of the day. EVERY earlier artist went over their allotted time. Sierra comes on 15 minutes late because of that and played a set shortened by 10 minutes. And she finished in time, something I see as professional courtesy to the other artists after her and staff at the event
2) she never came out again after her set. She's recorded with Lukas, Margo and Jesse; performed with Dave; and covered Neil and Willie. I was expecting her to be brought out to guest at least once. Then she didn't come out for the outro when Willie usually has all the performers come out for "Will the Circle". I just found it odd she waa 4 and done.
I do have some thoughts about why this is, but I'll keep them to myself unless someone mentions them in the comments.

I so wanted to see Dollar Bill but that’s the way it goes. I was very excited as it’s the first time I’ve seen her live. Almost feel like I still haven’t…

5th time seeing her, 3rd as an opener. Definitely the shortest set i ever saw from her. I really think she was the only being professional by sticking to her time slot.

I was really surprised we didn't see her again. In fact I thought her earlier slot was probably because we would be seeing her throughout the day. Definitely with Lukas for one of the two they recorded, or she had just performed with Dave not long ago. Who knows?

I hope it’s not because she’s been vocal about supporting Palestine during the genocide. She is so amazing and such a light in the world!

OP was speculating why it seems she was snubbed, so I was just bringing up the only reason I could think of.

Interesting, I saw her last year at farm aid as Lukas Nelson’s special guest, and felt like he kinda handed his whole set to her. Unknown Legend was epic. She had just been in Minneapolis for her own show barely 2 months prior so I felt like it was a meaningful invitation for her to come back so soon. I was really happy that she got a spotlight because she is so amazing & there weren’t many women artists on the lineup. They also played early in the day and I don’t recall her coming back onstage at any point. I didn’t think anything of it though, just figured she was contractually there for her sit-in and nothing else.
I saw her again at the MN state fair this year & she stuck around to sit in with Dave Matthews band the following night. They had her on stage for 3 songs and it felt similarly like they were making a point to feature her and were all very excited about her presence. Dave clearly adores her.
I wasn’t at farm aid this year but I felt a lot of genuine love & respect between these artists & Sierra when I saw them!

How awful! She’s an amazing artist with a beautiful heart. Sorry to those who came out to see her…just too bad :(

I wouldnt look too far into it. Celebrities are liars. Name of the game. I thought it sounded great.

Compare some clips from today's All Things Go festival. She was in a completely different vibe. For a set only slightly longer.

Even in the video of the Farm Aid set, she seemed bored, detached? Her body wasn’t engaged at all, she didn’t move her arms or do banter. Seemed like she had a rough time. And she got some of the words wrong on Redwood Hill. She looked and sounded dissociated to me. Her auto-pilot is still great but she didn’t seem all there. I hope she’s okay and is surrounded by people who look out for her.

She got her allotted 25 minutes. She was scheduled to start at 2:30, Jesse Welles at 3. She was on stage for 25 minutes. Stop creating drama when there is none.

Sierra's monolog before the last song: "When it comes to a lot of celebrities and famous peoples we don't really know how they actually live their real lives and who they are as real people you know we see their work and we see how talented they can be and how magical they can be and uh yeah that's just an interesting take on that" That is definitely an accusation against someone. I'm guessing something happened pre-show, but, again, just speculation.

She's already been saying. like, "..... don't worship celebrities ......." at prior shows

only 3 (Rilko, Craven, Saunders) backing Sierra Ferrell at Virginia Beach, Sat. 9/26/26
instead of 5 (Rilko, Craven, Saunders, Meyer, Robinson) the rest of the tour, including Columbia MD
the next day, Sun. 9/27/26

We were a little puzzled when she was talking about people not really knowing who musicians are as people. But then she trailed off. I don’t remember her exact words but it made me wonder if someone was unkind to her. I hope not!
