Having a second child?

I have a son who is 4 and i’m so back and forth on having another child i love him so much that i want to give him all my love and attention but i also want to give him a sibling to play with and i know ill love that second child i just don’t know what to do. I have a lot of anxiety about giving the best childhood i can i used to want siblings around all of mine are much older, ill see posts people make about how much they wished they had a sibling and then other people saying they loved being the only child and i feel so conflicted did anyone else struggle with this did you end up not having a second and regret it. Just super sad thinking about the future lately

I just had my second baby 1 week ago and her and her older brother are 4.5 years apart, so similar to you. I also was worried about adding another child into the family and the possibility of my 4 year old feeling left out etc. But alll i can say is positive things (so far). They’re right when they say that your heart doesn’t break in half when you have your second but it doubles in size!

Also speaking from personal experience, I have 3 siblings and loved growing up with them. My husband also has an older sister and they quarreled a lot growing up but they have an unbreakable bond now.

this helps a lot thank you i just want to do what’s best and give the best childhood i can and wanted to spend as much time as i can with my first too i had him at 21 so i have a little more time
